New Delhi: According to Census 2011, India's literacy rate is 74.04 per cent. Literacy rate among Indian women is 65.46 pc, while for men it is 82.14 per cent.
Though women have made strides in various fields, still they lag behind men in terms of literacy rate. A major cause of this is lack of social awareness, social customs and rituals which do not let a woman to break free.
