Neymar isn't the only superstar spending much of his non-playing time on social media.
Before Portugal were beaten 4-0 by Germany last night, Christiano Ronaldo uploaded a photograph to Twitter showing himself and his girl fried.
And, of course, what better way was there for the victorious German team to gloat after the match?
Following their victory, the entire squad posed for a selfie with German Chancellor Angela Merkel who visited the national side in their dressing room.

A Twitter image uploaded by Lukas Podolski showing him giving the thumbs up alongside Ms Merkel has so far been reposted more than 1,000 times.
The England squad has been relatively quiet on social media since the World Cup kicked off, with the few messages that have been posted considerably less glamorous than those by the likes of Neymar.
For example Daniel Sturridge last night shared a photograph of himself sitting in a hotel room in front of a blank television.
The image was accompanied by a message describing himself as 'fuming' that the screen had broken while he was trying to watch football.

His Instagram feed is dominated by photographs of the Italian striker posing happily with his new fiance Fanny Neguesha.

Mario Balottelli even uploaded this photograph of Miss Neguesha as she prepared her make-upEngland captain Steven Gerrard yesterday took to Instagram to share a photograph of him standing next to his wife Alex as they celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary
