Lalu Prasad thanked his party workers for maintaining unity, and challenged chief minister Nitish Kumar to face the RJD in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Lalu Prasad was awarded five years' imprisonment by the Special Ranchi court for his alleged involvement in the fodder scam.
There were 44 accused in the case and 37 of them have already been granted bail and bail application of six others is under consideration of the trial court.
The Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice P. Sathasivam and Justice Ranjan Gogoi, while granting bail to Lalu, had noted that similarly situated other accused too have already been granted bail.
