Srinagar, Apr 7 : The building of Tourist Reception Centre at Srinagar was partially gutted in a fire this evening.
Fire brigade staff had a tough time in fighting the blaze due to a traffic snarl on the way. The building houses the office of the directorate of tourism.
The last time, the Tourist Reception Centre was gutted, was on April 6, 2005, a day before the flagging off of the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service.
The state government had constructed a hutment-type building made of fiber, which caught fire today.
