Coronavirus: Centre asks States to request private sector to enforce work from home | Important announcements

Coronavirus: Centre asks States to request the private sector to enforce work from home. Health Ministry officials on Thursday made this and many other announcements. Currently, 173 people have been found infected in India while 4 of them are dead. The fourth death was reported from Punjab on Thursday evening. On Thursday, Joint Commissioner of Health Ministry Lav Agarwal and other health ministry officials addressed the media on Thursday evening.

Here are the major announcements made by the health ministry:

  1. All children below 10 should be advised to stay at home and not to venture out. Railways and civil aviation shall suspend all concessional travel except for students, patients and divyang category.
  2. State governments shall issue appropriate directions so that all citizens above 65 (other than for medical assistance) except for public representatives /govt servants/medical professionals are advised to remain at home.
  3. No scheduled international commercial passenger flights shall be allowed to land in India from March 22 for one week.
  4. There has not been community transmission of Coronavirus so far.
  5. Punjab patient had co-morbid conditions like diabetes, cardiac issues at the time of death due to Coronavirus.
  6. Pharma dept, consumer affairs ministry will take action against those charging exorbitant prices for sanitisers and masks
  7. 201 Indians have been evacuated from Iran: Aviation joint secretary.

  9. N-95 masks are available in adequate quantity in the country
