Four chief ministers of non-BJP ruled states on Saturday came out in support of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who is staging a dharna at LG Anil Baijal's residence for last six days.

The four chief ministers- Pinarayi Vijayan(Kerala), HD Kumaraswamy(Karnataka), N Chandrababu Naidu(Andhra Pradesh) and Mamata Banerjee (West Bengal)- met in New Delhi on Saturday and discussed the strategy to provide support to protesting Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

Mamata Banerjee held a meeting at Andhra Bhawan with her counterparts from Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

As It Happened:

10:10 pm: We will tell the PM to intervene in this matter and solve it. Had the President been here, we would have told him too. This is a democracy and that is how a democracy functions: WB CM Mamata Banerjee in Delhi: Mamata Banerjee

10:07 pm: We came here to show our support to Delhi CM. We demand that the Prime Minister interferes in this issue & takes necessary steps to solve this problem: Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy

10:06 pm: I wanted to meet Delhi CM but I was told, verbally and not even written, that permission will not be granted. Then four of us wrote to LG for appointment but we were told that he (LG) is not even there. We waited so long but we were not allowed: Mamata Banerjee

10:00 pm: This is a constitutional crisis. But there should never be such crisis due to which a govt and the common people have to suffer: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Delhi: Mamata Banerjee

10:02 pm: There are 2 Crore people in Delhi. The work has been disrupted since 4 months, there can be nothing more unfortunate than this. LG is the appointed leader, if not he then to whom will one to go to seek time & talk?: Mamata Banerjee

9:57 pm: Because of the attitude of Central govt this happened. Centre is restricting the federal system which is a threat to the nation. Everyone is with him (Delhi CM). All the democratic people are with Delhi CM: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan

9:55 pm: We are requesting the Lieutenant Governor & govt of India to talk it out: Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu

9:50 pm: We came here to express our support to Delhi CM. The LG has to allow this govt to function. Mamata Ji had asked permission from the LG to see the CM to which there was no response: Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu

Earlier, Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday alleged that Lt Governor Anil Baijal denied permission to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for meeting her Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal.

Kejriwal and his three ministers are sitting on dharna inside the waiting room of Delhi LG's residence in support of their demands.

"Permission denied by LG. Extremely sad state of affairs," Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha tweeted.

Reacting to the denial of permission to Mamata Banerjee, Kejriwal alleged that the LG was acting under instructions of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
