New Delhi: The Sonkashi Sinha and Ajay Devgn starrer Action Jackson has completed its first week at box office with Rs 45.75 cr nett, according to a leading daily Koimoi but it's not a kind of collection expected from an Ajay Devgn starrer.
The movie since the opening day has been suffering to manage a good collection while the weekdays' response at box office was also recorded dull. In the weekend this Prabhu Deva directorial collected only Rs 29 cr and with Thursday's collection of Rs 3 cr, Action Jackson ended its first week run with Rs 45.75 cr.
The movie is however on a safer side this week considering there are no big competition but still it won't be a big hit at the box office considering bad review and word of mouth.
Looking at the other side, the big Tamil flick ‘Lingaa', starring none other than the superstar Rajinikanth has hit the screens today and going by the response the movie is set to make some big records at the box office.
According to a leading daily, the movie has opened to packed theatres while the advance bookings are on till the weekend. Rajinikanth's earlier hit ‘Endhiran' opened with a brilliant collection of Rs 11 cr and Vijay starrer Kaththi broke that record garnering Rs 12.5 cr, which stands as the highest opening day figure in Tamil Cinema as well as the highest grosser of the year 2014.
Also starring Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty, ‘Lingaa' is expected to surpass that collection with flying colors. Moreover, today i.e., 12th December also marks Rajinikanth's 64th birthday and what could be a better treat for his fans than his action-drama ‘Lingaa' getting released.
