The film earned Rs 10.26 cr on its opening day and it has been doing wonderful business. It is moving towards Rs 100 cr mark. If this happens then it is going to be Akshay’s consecutive 100 cr film as his previous films Jolly LLB 2 and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha also entered the coveted club. Before the release of the film, the actors took and give PadMan challenge under which they were seen posing with sanitary napkins telling people that periods are normal.
On a related note, PadMan is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who invented low-cost sanitary napkins. It is directed by R. Balki and the project has been bankrolled by Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna.
