Luka Chuppi and Sonchiriya in cinema halls today

Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon will witness a face-off at the box office with the release of their respective films Sonchiriya and Luka Chuppi.

Luka Chuppi and Sonchiriya in cinema halls today

This Friday, which also marks the first day of March, has two big films clashing at the box office. Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s romantic drama Luka Chuppi and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Sonchiriya are all set to release on the same day. Luka Chuppi, directed by Laxman Utekar is a comedy drama based on the perception of live-in relationships in small town. It has fresh pairing Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in the lead role. Apart from them, Pankaj Tripathi, Vinay Pathak and Aparshakti Khurana are also in the star cast. Bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Luka Chuppi will in cinema halls from today.

Sonchiriya on the other hand, belongs to an altogether different genre. It is a crime drama based in the fictional version of Chambal. The film has an ensemble cast including Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ashutosh Rana and Ranvir Shorey. It is directed by Udta Punjab fame director Abhishek Chaubey. Though, not much of promotions happened around this dacoits-based films, Sonchiriya is expected to be a critical hit.

As per our box office prediction, Luka Chuppi is expected to rake in around Rs 5 crore on its opening day at the box office. On the other hand, Sonchiriya, which doesn’t have much buzz around it, might earns around Rs 1.5 crore owing to a clashing with a commercial film like Luka Chuppi.
