Thane: 18-year-old informs family of meeting a friend, ends life by jumping off 32nd floor

The deceased was found lying in a pool of blood on the ground at the housing complex.

College student ends life by jumping off 32nd floor

Pratamesh Parab, an 18-year-old college student allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the 32nd floor of a high-rise in Thane Tuesday evening. The incident was reported at around 5 PM from Majiwada area of the district. Parab was a resident of Kalwa and a First Year Junior College student.

Probing the incident, a police official said that Parab had informed his family that he was going to meet a friend in the complex. 

"He was found lying in a pool of blood on the ground at the housing complex. As per preliminary probe, Parab informed his family that he was going to meet a friend in the complex. The identity of this friend is not yet known," the official said.

"We have found his mobile phone in the building's residential area and its contents are being checked to get more information on why he might have committed suicide. The CCTV network of the area is also being checked," the official added.

Meanwhile a case of accidental death has been registered at Rabodi police station, he said, adding the further probe was underway.
