Noida rave party: Most guests at Sector 135 farmhouse were college students

Police have claimed to arrest 192 people including 31 women after they raided the farmhouse at Noida Sector 135 that belonged to Ankit Tyagi, a Delhi resident.

Noida (UP): It is not every day that a private party hits newspaper headlines. But Noida rave party, that was organised on lawns of a farmhouse in Noida Sector 135 did. The party was organised by Delhi resident Ankit Tyagi. 

Police arrested 192 people, mostly college students from  Haryana and Delhi. 

PTI report quoting police said - as many as 161 men and 31 women were arrested from a rave party being held illegally at a farmhouse in Noida. Organisers charged Rs 10,000 from men. Entry was free for women. 

The accused were held late Saturday night from the venue in Sector 135 where alcohol and other intoxicants were being served illegally, a senior police officer said.

"We had got information about such a rave party being held at the farmhouse. A raid was carried out late Saturday night and the information was found true after which 161 men and 31 women were held from the spot," Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Vaibhav Krishna said. 

"Most of those arrested belong to Delhi, while some are from Haryana and only a few are from Noida," Vaibhav Krishna said. 

Five of the key organisers of the event have also been arrested.  

"The key organisers have been identified as Amit Tyagi, Pankaj Sharma, Adnan Ahmed, Balesh Kohli, all four from Delhi, and Kapil Singh Bhati, from Ghaziabad," Krishna said.

How Police got to know of Noida rave party

  • An anonymous caller tipped off Gautam Budh Nagar SSP Vaibhav Krishna at 1 am in the night. 
  • A team was soon formed on SSP Vaibhav Krishna's instructions and the farmhouse was raided. 

The organisers had not taken any permission to serve liquor or organise a party with 200 people. Police are also probing whether local police officers were aware of the party or not.

A case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code against those arrested and a probe is underway, he added.
