On Thursday, in one of the worst attacks in the valley so far, more than 40 CRPF personnel were killed in south Kashmir's Pulwama district after a suicide bomber hit his car with a CRPF bus. While the country is in deep shock after the incident, citizens are burning with anger since the moment Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed responsibility for the attack. The entire country is paying mourning the death of our jawans in their own way, some by lighting candles and praying for the peace of their souls, others by coming out on the streets and asking for justice. Amul too paid homage to the soldiers through their iconic Amul Girl cartoon ad.
Amul Coop took to Twitter to share the iconic ad and gave a twist to Mohammad Rafi’s iconic song from the 1964 film Haqeeqat, Kar Chale Hum Fida Jaan-o-Tan Saathiyon. Amul, known for their word play, added a twist to it considering the present situation of the country and wrote, “Kar Chale Tum Fida Jaan-o-Tan Saathiyon, Ab Humare Hawale Watan Saathiyon” on a monochromatic poster. The cartoon also shows the Amul girl with a candle in her hands on one side.
The cartoon touched many people on the internet and also left them emotional. While one Twitter user wrote, “We stand by our men in uniform. Highest regards for the bravehearts. Tribute to Pulwama martyrs”, another [raised Amul for bringing out the emotions and said, “Amul is truly Indian. Amul has always been with India in all the phases from good ,bad ,victory, amul is in our emotions.” Check out the tweets here-
