As per the revised rates, petrol and diesel prices in Delhi are Rs 80.38 per litre and Rs 72.51 per litre respectively.

Fuel rates continued to spiral on Saturday. Petrol prices reached Rs 80/litre mark in Delhi. As per the revised rates, petrol and diesel prices in Delhi are Rs 80.38 per litre and Rs 72.51 per litre respectively. Rates of both petrol and diesel were hiked in Mumbai too as the revised rates in the financial capital stood at Rs 87.77 litre and Rs 76.98 per litre respectively.

Earlier on Friday, adding to the commuter's woes, petrol and diesel prices were hiked in both Mumbai and Delhi.  In Delhi petrol and diesel were being retailed for Rs.79.99 per litre and Rs.72.07 per litre, respectively. In Mumbai, petrol and diesel prices stood at Rs 87.39 per litre and Rs.76.51 per litre respectively on Friday.

Meanwhile, Congress is all set to organise a nationwide shutdown on September 10 over rising fuel prices in the country. The announcement was made by Congress party leaders on Thursday, who also asked other opposition parties and civil society groups to join their protest against the government.
