    RP Singh tweets

"It's just not about length. Swing depends on how you release the ball. If you are hitting the ball on pitch, it will cut and not swing"

10 overs more to go in the final session of the day. Indian pacers have once again failed to strike with the new ball as New Zealand openers are off to a solid start in Christchurch.

    Jamieson after his maiden fi-fer

"It's special to have the family here to witness this moment. We did well as a bowling unit. This venue has been comfortable for me with the run-ups and everything... nice to come back home. The pitch wasn't doing as much as Wellington, so to keep them to 242 was good."

  • 10:32 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    India all out!

India all-out for 242 in first innings against New Zealand in Christchurch. Boult takes the final wicket as he dismissed Shami on 16. It has been a collapse for India after tea as they lost their final 6 for just 48 runs. And Jamieson has been the key bowler in the session where he completed his maiden five-wicket haul

  • 10:26 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    Back-to-back SIX!

  • 10:00 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    OUT!

Jameison to Pant. Length ball which was well away from the left hander. He could have easily left the ball. But the nervy youngster went after it and provides a bid inside edge as the ball rattles against the leg stump.

  • 9:51 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    OUT!

Jamieson to Pujara. Short, around off and Pujara goes for the pull shot. Mistimes it as the ball goes aerial off the top edge before Watling completes the dismissal.

  • 9:48 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    Play resumes after Tea

Rishabh Pant is the new batsman in. Wagner to resume with his over. Pujara now hold key for India and will look to draw inspiration from his knock in the first Test in Australia to guide India to a respectable total.

  • 9:32 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    TEA BREAK

India lost Virat Kohli at the beginning of the second session and Rahane a few deliveries later, but the 81-run partnership between Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari steadied the visitors with both notching up their respective Test fifties. Vihari looked more aggressive towards the end of the session firing three boundaries against Trent Boult in an over and two against Wagner, which took his tally to 10 in the innings. But New Zealand managed to get that much-needed breakthrough as Wagner dismissed Vihari before tea. We will back in 20 minutes for the final session of the day.

  • 9:28 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

First one, onto the pads and Vihari clips it towards backward square leg fence for a boundary. Second one, width offered and Vihari chased it but the ball takes the edge and goes over the slip cordon for a four. And then again! Down to the third man. But has to be careful against Boult.

  • 8:58 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    FOUR!

CDG to Vihari. Length ball swing away from the batsman as Vihari leans to drive the ball through cover for a boundary

  • 8:46 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    FIFTY for Pujara!

After Prithvi, it is Pujara who brings up his half-century. His 25th in Test cricket. Can he convert it into a triple-figure mark? He hasn't scored a century since his 193 in Australia in December 2018. 13 century-less innings so far, including this Christchurch knock.

  • 8:20 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    FOUR!

Jamieson to Pujara. Beautiful delivery but the inside edge guides the ball to the boundary past the keeper. Just no luck for Jamieson in this afternoon.

  • 8:11 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    ANOTHER SCARE!

Jameison to Vihari. Length ball, outside off, generated that extra bounce as Vihari chased the ball. The edged carried to the keeper but BJ Watling dropped it, unfortunately.

  • 7:51 AM (IST) Posted by Aditya Maheshwari

  • 7:16 AM (IST) Posted by Aditya Maheshwari

    OUT!

Southee to Kohli, LBW! Poor review from the Indian skipper as there was no edge as the ball was hitting the stumps clearly. The misery continues for Virat Kohli departs for just 3.

  • 7:10 AM (IST) Posted by Aditya Maheshwari

    Welcome Back!

All eyes will be on India's top 2 Test batsmen - Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara in the second session. Meanwhile, Neil Wagner and Kylier Jamieson will look to trouble them with their bounce.

  • 6:35 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    It's lunch time!

India finish the morning session with 85 on the scoreboard at the loss of two wickets. Mayank was dismissed early by Trent Boult, but an aggressive Prithvi Shaw drove India out with his promising 64-ball 54 that made him the second-youngest Indian to score a half-century in New Zealand. He was eventually dismissed by the fuller delivery outside off by Jamieson just before lunch. After lunch, we await Wagner vs Kohli battle.

  • 6:15 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    OUT!

Jamieson to Prithvi! Length ball, well wide of the off stump and Shaw chases it. Doesn't get much on it as he edges it straight to Tom Latham at second slip. Stunning catch and that brings an end to Prithvi's knock.

  • 6:11 AM (IST) Posted by Aratrick Mondal

    FIFTY for Prithvi Shaw!

Incredible comeback! He learnt from his mistakes, improved his footwork and Shaw brings up his fifty, his second in his Test career. And gets to the mark with a six against Neil Wagner.

  • 6:03 AM (IST) Posted by Aditya Maheshwari

    FOUR!

Southee to Shaw, FOUR! Positive approach from Shaw is helping him as he guides the ball through mid-wicket for a boundary.

  • 5:13 AM (IST) Posted by Aditya Maheshwari

    OUT!

Boult to Mayank, OUT! And Boult does what he is famous for and Mayank, who was struggling, departs on 7. Bad review as there was no edge and the ball was hitting the middle stump.

  • 5:09 AM (IST) Posted by Aditya Maheshwari

Boult to Mayank, FOUR! Not an ideal boundary as Mayank was not in the full control and tries to hit the ball through mid-wicket but gets an edge as the ball races away for a boundary.
