Amid continuous sloganeering by the opposition members, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said, "I believe that despite being in government for a long time, you are breaking the decorum and dignity of the House. There is a way to protest, there can be other ways to protest, however, you all are leaving your designated seats and walking towards the other side. If your will break dignity, then people of the country will lose trust on democracy. You all are senior leaders, but it is not right that you break the rules of the House. Protest is not done by sloganeering or carrying posters, protest is done by words, logical arguments." 

Addressing the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, "The government's highest priority is to diversify energy sources in line with objective market conditions and the changing international scenario. This is the core basis of our strategy, and all actions taken by India are guided by this consideration. In the context of future trade opportunities between the two countries, members will appreciate that India and the United States are, to a large extent, complementary economies. As India moves forward on the path towards becoming 'Viksit Bharat', we will need to expand our capacities in many sectors, including energy, aviation, data centres, nuclear energy, and others. The United States is a global leader in these sectors, and therefore it is natural for us to focus on trade possibilities in these areas. This will not only diversify our procurement but also lead to an expansion of our own exports."

"Deal will help exporters; it will boost Make in India for the world and Design in India for the world," said Union minister Piyush Goyal in Lok Sabha on the India-US trade deal.

In Lok Sabha, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, "Last year, negotiators from both sides held detailed discussions on various levels. Keeping the important interests of both sides in mind, it is natural that both sides would want to safeguard their respective important and sensitive areas and ensure the best possible results. During the discussions, the Indian side was successful in safeguarding the interests of its sensitive sectors, especially agriculture and dairy. With a year of discussions, the two sides succeeded in giving the final form to various sectors of the bilateral trade agreement."

India has been able to safeguard its interests in sensitive sectors of agriculture and dairy in trade deal with US, said Piyush Goyal.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh on LoP Rahul Gandhi, said, "Spreading lies, misinformation has become habit of Rahul Gandhi and his team. Rahul Gandhi thinks that Parliament is office of the Congress. They have been speaking against the country, they have never thought positive about the country. They always work to conspire against the country."

On suspension of 8 Opposition MPs, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, "What is new here? You see this happening in every session. They are doing it even more now...It is not just a case of LoP not being allowed to speak; it is a fundamental issue of democracy and of the way the Parliament works. Parliament is the temple of democracy...What is the problem if someone presents their views? They are scared of what would come out of it. They did not allow the publication of the book. As far as I know, the book has things that show the reaction of PM, HM and Defence Minister and our top leadership in the face of crisis. This clearly shows their character and that of their Govt, that when the country is being attacked and Chinese troops are coming to our border, how they are reacting. Epstein Files have been released and it states how the Govt contacted him, a convicted sex trafficker, a convicted child sex offender. So, how was he being used...This is also an authenticated document. What will be discussed in Parliament, if not this?"

She also said, "...He (Rahul Gandhi) is quoting from a published source. He even authenticated it yesterday. So, what is the problem if he speaks? They (NDA) quote from books and magazine articles when they speak. As long as it is a published source, it is okay."

Congress Lok Sabha MPs will hold a meeting on Wednesday at the Congress Parliamentary Party office to chalk out the strategy for the Floor of the House during the ongoing Budget Session. This comes after the Lower House of the Parliament witnessed a standoff between the opposition and the Treasury benches, as Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi reinvoked the unpublished memoir by former Army Chief General MM Naravane. Eight opposition MPs were suspended from Lok Sabha for the remainder of the budget session for violating rules and "throwing papers on the chair".

The Budget session will span 30 sittings over 65 days, concluding on April 2. The two Houses will adjourn for a recess on February 13 and reconvene on March 9 to enable the Standing Committees to examine the Demands for Grants of various ministries and departments.

Congress Lok Sabha MPs to have a meeting today at 10.15 am in Congress Parliamentry Party office to chalk out the strategy for the Floor of the House.

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi accused the government of not allowing him to proceed with his speech on the motion of thanks to the President's address. He wrote to Speaker Om Birla, raising concerns over "being prevented from speaking" on matters of national security during the discussion on Motion of Thanks to the President's Address.

In his letter, he stated that he had followed parliamentary convention by authenticating a document he intended to cite, but despite fulfilling this requirement, he was not permitted to quote it in the lower house of Parliament.

The standoff between the opposition and government in Lok Sahha escalated on Tuesday after eight opposition MPs were suspended for "unruly behaviour" after throwing papers towards the Chair. Of the eight members suspended, 6 are Manickam Tagore, Gurjeet Ojla, Raja Warring, Ebi Eden, Kiren Reddy, and Venkat Raman.

The Speaker condemned the incident as a breach of parliamentary decorum and warned that such behaviour would not be tolerated during the Budget Session.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address in the Lok Sabha during the Budget Session of Parliament today. The government has allotted 18 hours in the Lok Sabha for discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address to the joint session of Parliament during the Budget Session.
