Vote counting from the Solapur Zilla Parishad Elections 2026 show the BJP leading in 42 of 68 seats. The NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) follows with 9 seats. Shiv Sena got 7 seats. The Congress has secured 1 seat, while others are leading in 1.

Vote counting for the Solapur Zilla Parishad Elections 2026 is underway, with trends showing the BJP leading in 42 of 68 seats. The NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) is ahead in 09 seats, followed by the Shiv Sena with 07, while the Congress and others have secured 01 seat each.

Trends from the Solapur Panchayat Samiti Elections 2026 have taken shape across key blocks including Madha, Barshi, Solapur North and Malshiras, as vote counting draws to a close. The BJP and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) are among the parties that recorded leads during the counting process.

The previous elections to the Solapur Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samitis were held in 2017 as part of Maharashtra’s rural local body elections. The Solapur Zilla Parishad has 68 seats, while 136 Panchayat Samiti seats were contested across the district. Polling for the current elections was held on February 7, with counting scheduled for the same day. In the 2017 Zilla Parishad elections, the NCP emerged as the single largest party with 23 seats, followed by the BJP with 14, the Congress with 7, and the Shiv Sena with 5. At the Panchayat Samiti level, the NCP had led with 44 of the 136 seats, followed by the BJP with 33 and the Congress with 17.

A total of 731 Zilla Parishad seats and 1,462 Panchayat Samiti seats were contested in the local body elections, with around 2.09 crore eligible voters taking part. Each voter cast two votes - one for the Zilla Parishad and one for the Panchayat Samiti - using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). To conduct the exercise, around 25,482 polling stations were set up across the state and staffed by more than 1.28 lakh personnel. The electoral rolls finalised on July 1, 2025, were used for the polls, with no additions or deletions permitted. Elections to the remaining 22 Zilla Parishads in Maharashtra continue to remain on hold, pending a Supreme Court verdict on reservations exceeding the 50 percent cap.

Polling was held on February 7, 2026, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and vote counting was completed on Monday, February 9, 2026, starting from 10:00 am.
