New Delhi:

Actor Kamaal Rashid Khan, also known as KRK, was granted bail in connection with the Oshiwara firing incident. He was arrested for allegedly opening fire at a residential building in the western suburbs.

For the unversed, a magistrate's court granted bail to Kamaal R Khan on a personal bond of Rs 25,000. Khan had applied for bail, arguing that his arrest was "arbitrary" and that the case represented an "abuse of the legal process by the investigating agency."

According to the police, the actor admitted in his statement that he had fired two rounds from his licensed weapon at Nalanda Society in Oshiwara on January 18, 2026.

KRK linked to firing incident at residential society

During the investigation, police recovered two bullets from the society premises, one from the second floor and another from the fourth floor. One of the flats is owned by a writer-director, while the other belongs to a model.

At first, the police struggled to make progress as the CCTV footage did not reveal anything suspicious. However, forensic analysis later suggested that the shots were fired from Kamaal Rashid Khan's nearby bungalow.

KRK's lawyer presents her argument

Actor Kamaal R Khan's lawyer, Sana Khan, argued that no motive has been established against her client. She claimed that the allegations were fabricated at a later stage and are based on hearsay, which is not even mentioned in the remand report.

The lawyer further stated that merely possessing 22 cartridges does not make the actor guilty, as under the Arms Rules, a licensed individual is permitted to purchase up to 200 cartridges in a year. A case has been registered against the actor under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
