'Party gayi tel lene, meri izzat rakhna': Congress' Indore MLA tells voters | WATCH VIDEO

In an incident which is certain to embarrass the Congress,  a video has surfaced which shows one of its MLA from Madhya Pradesh seeking votes on his name while snubbing the party.

The video clip which has gone viral shows Indore MLA Jitu Patwari telling an elderly couple, "mera khayal rakhna, meri izzat rakhna, party gayi tel lene (forget the party and vote for me...save my reputation)."

Patwari, who is also the Madhya Pradesh Congress working president, made the remark during a door-to-door campaigning in his constituency. 

The incident has given the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take a dig at the Congress which is trying hard to return to power in Madhya Pradesh after 15 years.

 A day earlier, senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid had said that it would be difficult for his party to win on its own in the 2019 General Elections.

Patwari's statement has come a day after Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid said that it was difficult for the party to come to power in 2019 on its own in the present situation. 

When asked whether it is possible for Congress to come to power on its own, the former external affairs minister said "it is obviously difficult today".
