After taking oath as Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, BJP leader Samrat Choudhary said: "This is a victory of the people of Bihar, of the democracy in Bihar, of the hard work of the people of NDA in Bihar, of PM Narendra Modi, of Nitish Kumar and of all NDA allies. The strong workers of Bihar worked hard and established democracy in Bihar. They didn't let Gunda Raj come to Bihar... I especially thank the women of Bihar who voted in large numbers... Bihar trusted PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar. I am a soldier and will work like that... I had said on the first day itself that we would win 100 seats in the first phase, and ultimately we won 102 seats in the first phase. Such was the accuracy in the report of our workers."

After taking oath as Bihar Minister, BJP leader Rama Nishad said: “It's the victory of NDA workers and people of Bihar; work will be done in all the sectors of Bihar."  

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has criticised the opposition for skipping Nitish Kumar's oath-taking ceremony and said, "Petty mindset. I believe that this is petty mindset. Winning or losing is one thing, but the command of the people, their mandate, should be respected by everyone. They should have come."

After taking oath as Bihar Deputy CM, BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sinha has thanked the people of the state for reposing faith in the double-engine government of PM Modi and Nitish Kumar again. 

Following Nitish Kumar's swearing in ceremony, Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM KP Maurya has said that the Congress and the RJD cannot stop Bihar from progressing now.

JDU leader KC Tyagi has said that Nitish Kumar, who was sworn in as chief minister of Bihar for 10th time, will make the state developed. "I express gratitude towards the people of Jamui and my family members. The Cabinet, which took oath today, comprises both youth and experienced leaders," he told new agency ANI.

In a political career spanning 50 years, Nitish Kumar has displayed an uncanny knack for rising like a phoenix every time sceptics and detractors have sought to write him off. The most atypical of politicians owing their rise to post-Mandal politics, Nitish Kumar stood out for his ability to address the governance deficit, unlike a majority of the breed reared in the socialist stable, but was often accused of pursuing politics of opportunism. Call it political opportunism or sagacity, his moves, in effect, have not allowed the BJP to appoint its own chief minister to date, despite enjoying a near-hegemonic status nationally and the best performance in recently held assembly polls, where the saffron party bagged 89 seats, followed by the JD(U) with 85. Kumar is among the 10 longest-serving CMs in the country. He has been in power for 19 years. His frequent switching sides in his political career earned him the nickname 'Paltu Ram', whereas he is also called 'sushashan babu' for good governance. PTI

Bihar Minister and JD(U) leader Jama Khan said, "I will thank my leaders who trusted me for the fourth time. The world has recognised Nitish Kumar and NDA government's work. In the coming days, I will complete all pending work in whichever department I serve."

After taking oath as minister in the new NDA government, BJP leader Mangal Pandey said, "I have been in the government and served the people of the state, and once again, party's leadership has given an opportunity to work by including me in the government. I express my heartfelt thanks to PM Modi, JP Nadda, Amit Shah and also CM Nitish Kumar, under whose leadership I have been working since last several years. I firmly believe that under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar, we will continue to work to take Bihar forward."

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav congratulated Nitish Kumar as he took oath as chief minister of Bihar for the 10th time. "Heartfelt congratulations to the esteemed Shri Nitish Kumar Ji on taking the oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar. Heartfelt best wishes to all the ministers of the Bihar government who took oath as members of the Council of Ministers. I hope the new government will live up to the hopes and expectations of responsible people, fulfill its promises and declarations, and bring positive and qualitative changes in the lives of the people of Bihar," he said.

Union minister and LJP(RV) chief Chirag Paswan on Thursday said the induction of two MLAs from his party into the new council of ministers in Bihar marks a "major victory" that his late father Ram Vilas Paswan had long envisioned. The poll mandate places "big responsibilities" on the party to work towards a developed Bihar, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief said. "Today is a day to remember Ram Vilas Paswan ji and to work towards developing Bihar. It is a big day, and on this day, I first remember my leader and my father, the respected Ram Vilas Paswan ji," he told reporters, including PTI Video.

The LJP(RV) won 19 seats in the election and among them, Sanjay Kumar and Sanjay Kumar Singh were sworn in as ministers during the day. "I know that today he (Ram Vilas Paswan) would be the happiest, because of the heights at which he wanted to see our party. Today two ministers from our party took oath. The party has certainly achieved a major victory, as reflected in the results. And I believe that big victories also bring big responsibilities. I am fully aware of those responsibilities," Chirag Paswan said.

He added that his party would begin working "at a war footing" to fulfil its vision. "From today onwards, in the direction of building a developed Bihar, in making Bihar first and Biharis first, we will get to work immediately," he said. (PTI)

 On NDA govt returning to Bihar, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said, "According to PM Modi, today, the foundation stone of Viksit Bihar has been laid. PM Modi and Nitish Kumar have worked for the betterment of the people of the state... The opposition does not believe in democracy. If they had trust in the democracy, they would have come here..."

On NDA govt formation in Bihar, BJP leader Sanjay Jaiswal said, "The team is really good and this will make Bihar, a Viksit Bihar. Several new people have been given a chance this time. I am sure that they will set a good example..."

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Ram Kripal Yadav took oath as minister in Bihar cabinet. He won the Danapur constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Rit Lal Roy by 29,133 votes. He received 1,19,877 votes (54.41%), while Alam got 90,744 votes (41.19%). Ram Kripal Yadav won the Pataliputra Lok Sabha seat twice in 2014 and 2019 before losing it in 2024 at the hands of RJD's Misa Bharti. He won the Patna Lok Sabha seat in 1993 (bypoll), 1996 and 2004. He was also the MoS in the Narendra Modi Cabinet from 2014 to 2019.

Janata Dal United's (JDU) Sunil Kumar took oath as minister in Bihar Cabinet. He won the Bhorey constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) candidate Dhananjay by 16,163 votes. He received 1,01,469 votes (47.61%), while Dhananjay got 85,306 votes (40.03%).

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Pramod Kumar Chandravanshi took oath as Bihar minister. Chandravanshi has been inducted into the Nitish Kumar Cabinet. He is a member of the Bihar Legislative Council. Earlier, Chandravanshi was a member of the Janata Dal United (JDU).

Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) leader Deepak Prakash Kushwaha took oath as minister. He is not a member of any house in Bihar. He is the son of RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha and likely to become a member of the Bihar Legislative Council.

Lok Janshakti Party's (Ram Vilas) (LJP-RV) Sanjay Kumar Singh took oath as minister of Bihar. Singh won the Mahua constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Mukesh Kumar Raushan by 44,997 votes. He received 87,641 votes (41.47%), while Raushan got 42,644 votes (20.18%).

Lok Janshakti Party's (Ram Vilas) (LJP-RV) Sanjay Kumar Paswan took oath as Bihar minister. He won the Bakhri constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Communist Party of India (CPI) candidate Suryakant Paswan by 17,318 votes. He received 98,511 votes (47.67%), while Suryakant got 81,193 votes (39.29%).

Janata Dal United's (JDU) Madan Sahni took oath as Bihar minister. Sahni won the Bahadurpur constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Bhola Yadav by 12,011 votes. He received 96,300 votes (45.24%), while Yadav got 84,289 votes (39.60%).

Santosh Kumar Suman of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) took oath as Bihar minister. Suman has been a member of the Bihar Legislative Council. He is the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. He held several ministries, including Minor Irrigation, SC and ST Welfare, Information Technology, Disaster Management, and Minor Water Resources in the Nitish Kumar Cabinet during different tenures.

BJP leader Shreyasi Singh took oath oath as minister of Bihar. Singh won the Jamui constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Mohammad Shamsad Alam by 54,498 votes. She received 1,23,868 votes (57.02%), while Alam got 69,370 votes (31.93%).

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Narayan Prasad took oath as a Bihar minister. Prasad won the Nautan constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Congress candidate Amit Kumar by 22,072 votes. He received 1,01,952 votes (49.05%), while Kumar got 79,880 votes (38.43%).

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Lakhendra Kumar Raushan was sworn in as a Bihar Minister. He won the Patepur constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Prema Chaudhary by 22,380 votes. He received 1,08,356 votes (51.71%), while Chaudhary got 85,976 votes (41.03%).

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Surendra Mehta took oath as Bihar Minister. He won the Bachhwara constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Congress candidate Shiv Prakash Garib Das by 15,841 votes. He received 1,00,343 votes (45.03%), while Garib Das got 84,502 votes (37.92%).

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Arun Shankar Prasad takes oath as Bihar Minister. Prasad won the Khajauli constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Braj Kishor Yadav by 13,126 votes. He received 1,01,151 votes (49.36%), while Yadav got 88,025 votes (42.95%).

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Nabin took oath as Bihar minister. Nabin won the Bankipur constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Rekha Kumari by 51,936 votes. He received 98,299 votes (62.66%), while Kumari got 46,363 votes (29.55%).

Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Mohd Zama Khan, only Muslim MLA, took oath as state minister in Bihar cabinet at the oath ceremony being held at Patna's Gandhi Maidan. He won the Chainpur constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Brij Kishor Bind by 8,362 votes. He received 70,876 votes (30.94%), while Bind got 62,514 votes (27.29%).

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Rama Nishad took oath as state minister in Bihar cabinet at the oath ceremony being held at Patna's Gandhi Maidan. She won the Aurai constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) candidate Bhogendra Sahni by 57,206 votes. She received 1,04,085 votes (50.06%), while Sahni got 46,879 votes (22.55%).

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Singh Tiger took oath as Bihar Minister at Gandhi Maidan. He won the Arrah constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) (CPI-ML(L)) candidate Quyamuddin Ansari by 19,581 votes. He received 94,201 votes (50.98%), while Ansari got 74,620 votes (40.38%).

Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Leshi Singh took oath as Bihar minister. Singh won the Dhamdaha constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Santosh Kumar by 55,159 votes. She received 1,38,750 votes (57.32%), while Kumar got 83,591 votes (34.53%).

Janata Dal United's (JDU) Bijendra Prasad Yadav took oath as minister of Bihar. Yadav won the Supaul constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Congress candidate Minnatullah Rahmani by 30,803 votes. He received 1,09,085 votes (52.16%), while Rahmani got 78,282 votes (37.43%).

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Dilip Kumar Jaiswal took oath as state minister in Bihar cabinet. Jaiswal has been a member of the Bihar Legislative Council and the president of the Bihar BJP state unit. He served as the Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms in the Nitish Kumar Cabinet. He lost the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from the Kishanganj constituency at the hands of the Congress candidate Mohammad Asrarul Haque.

Janata Dal United's (JDU) Shrawon Kumar took oath as state minister in Bihar cabinet. Kumar won the Nalanda constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Congress candidate Kaushalendra Kumar by 33,008 votes. He served as the Minister for Rural Development, Food and Consumer Protection and Social Welfare in the Nitish Kumar Cabinet. Shrawon Kumar won the Nalanda seat in 1995, 2000, February 2005, October 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2020.

Janata Dal United's (JDU) Vijay Kumar Choudhary took oath as minister of Bihar. Choudhary won the Sarairanjan constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Arbind Kumar Sahani by 20,798 votes. He served as the Minister for Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs in the Nitish Kumar Cabinet. He held several other ministries and departments, including Education, Information and Public Relations, Building Construction and Transport, during different tenures of Nitish Kumar. Choudhary won the Sarairanjan seat in 2010, 2015 and 2020. He was also the Bihar Assembly Speaker and represented the Dalsinghsarai constituency thrice in 1982 (bypoll), 1985 and 1990 as a Congress nominee.

Janata Dal United's (JDU) Ashok Choudhary took oath at as Bihar minister at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan. Choudhary has been a member of the Bihar Legislative Council since 2014. He was the Minister of Rural Works in the ninth Nitish Kumar Cabinet and held several other ministries and departments, including Building Construction and Education, etc. Earlier, Choudhary was with the Congress and represented the Barbigha Assembly constituency twice, in 2000 and 2005, as a Congress nominee.

No chief minister in the country would have taken oath as many times as Bihar’s longest-serving CM Nitish Kumar, who was sworn in for a record 10th term on Thursday. At 74, Kumar also achieved another milestone of extending his 19-year stint as CM and breaking into the national top-10 list of longest-serving heads of government.

Pandey won the Siwan constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Awadh Bihari Choudhary by 9,370 votes. He served as the Minister of Health and Family Welfare in the Nitish Kumar Cabinet. He was also the BJP Bihar state unit chief from 2013 to 2016. Pandey has been a member of the Legislative Council since 2012.

BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sinha took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar. Sinha won the Lakhisarai constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Congress candidate Amaresh Kumar by 24,940 votes. He became the Deputy Chief Minister in January 2024 and held several ministries, including Agriculture, Road Construction, Mines, Geology, Art, Culture and Youth and Labour Resources, during different tenures. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 2022 to 2024. He was the Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 2020 to 2022. He represented the Lakhisarai Assembly constituency in February 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2020.

Choudhary won the Tarapur constituency in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Arun Kumar by 45,843 votes. He became the Deputy Chief Minister in January 2024 and held several ministries, including Finance, Commercial Taxes and Panchayati Raj, during different tenures. Choudhary was the Cabinet minister in the Jitan Ram Manjhi and Rabri Devi governments. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council from 2022 to 2023. He was also the BJP Bihar state unit chief from 2023 to 2024. He represented the Parbatta Assembly constituency twice in 2000 and 2010 as a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) nominee.

JDU chief Nitish Kumar on Thursday (November 20) took oath as the chief minister of Bihar for a record 10th time at Patna's historic Gandhi Maidan. Along with him, 19 ministers took the oath. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda ,and several other top leaders of the NDA. Winning candidates from across parties polled votes ranging from 60,000 to 1.5 lakh in the just-held Bihar elections, EC officials said on Wednesday amid allegations that various top BJP leaders got nearly 1.22 lakh votes. Various political leaders and people had taken to social media pointing to a "coincidence" that several top victorious BJP leaders polled votes in and around the 1.22 lakh range. There were suggestions that the Election Commission (EC) ensured that the BJP candidates secured almost similar votes, which largely hovered around the 1.22 lakh range. Citing data, the EC officials said winning candidates have secured votes "across the entire spectrum". According to the data, four candidates, one from the BJP and three from the JD(U), got votes in the 60,000-69,999 range. Besides, 65 winning candidates polled votes in the 90,000-99,999 range. The strength of the Bihar legislative assembly is 243. A total of 63 winning candidates got votes in the 1,00,000-1,09,999 range. According to the data, a BJP candidate polled votes in the 1,40,000-1,49,999 range. (PTI)

Amid hectic political activity in Bihar, several ministers have reportedly begun receiving calls related to the ongoing government formation process. BJP leaders Ramkripal Yadav and Sanjay Tiger are among those who have received such calls.

Possible ministers from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 

The new Bihar Cabinet is expected to include 16 ministers from the BJP and 14 from JD(U), including the party chief. In the outgoing government, the BJP had 15 ministers, JD(U) 12 including CM Nitish Kumar, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) had one, and one minister who was an Independent candidate. Sources said consensus has been reached among NDA partners to appoint BJP's Prem Kumar as the Assembly Speaker. The Deputy Speaker's post is likely to go to JD(U). Sources said the new Cabinet will have five to six new faces from the main constituents of the NDA — the BJP and the JD(U). Umesh Singh Kushwaha, JD(U) state chief who won from Mahnar assembly seat, is likely to be inducted in the new Cabinet. While JD(U) is likely set to retain its current ministers, BJP may bring in a few new faces. Smaller allies — LJP(RV) led by Union Minister Chirag Paswan, HAM-S led by Jitan Ram Manjhi, and RLM led by Upendra Kushwaha — will also get representation.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda arrived in Patna on Wednesday night, ahead of the swearing-in of JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar as the chief minister for a record 10th time. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the city's historic Gandhi Maidan on Thursday. State BJP president Dilp Jaiswal, along with senior party leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, received Shah and Nadda at the city airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the chief ministers of several NDA-ruled states are scheduled to attend the grand ceremony.
 

The ceremony is expected to draw a high-profile gathering of national leaders. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend, alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP national president JP Nadda. 

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Manik Saha, Pramod Sawant, Bhupendrabhai Patel, Nayab Singh Saini and Mohan Charan Manjhi also to attend today's ceremony in Patna.

Nitish Kumar's return is particularly notable because the JD(U)-BJP-led NDA has overcome anti-incumbency for the fifth consecutive time. At 74, Kumar remains one of India’s longest-serving chief ministers and continues to be a central figure in Bihar’s political landscape. The NDA’s dominant win saw the Opposition Mahagathbandhan reduced to just 35 seats, marking one of its weakest showings in recent years.

Earlier on Wednesday, JDU chief Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation as the head of the outgoing NDA government in Bihar to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. The governor accepted his resignation and asked him to continue as caretaker CM till a new government is formed. Kumar was accompanied by Union minister Chirag Paswan, RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha and Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya when he went to meet the governor. Several union ministers Chirag Paswan, Rajiv Ranjan Singh 'Lalan', Dharmendra Pradhan, RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha, UP's Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya were also with them.

Nitish Kumar was chosen leader of the NDA in Bihar during a meeting of newly elected MLAs of the alliance partners here on Wednesday, state minister Shrawon Kumar said. The proposal for the leader of NDA was moved by JD(U)'s Vijay Choudhary and seconded by BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha. MLAs of the LJP(RV), HAM and RLM also seconded the proposal, Shrawon Kumar said. He was also elected leader of the JD (U)'s legislature party by the newly elected MLAs of the party.

Several pandals have also been erected to accommodate VIPs. Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place, and over three lakh people are anticipated at the event, a senior BJP leader said. The NDA stormed back to power in Bihar, winning 202 seats in the 243-member assembly, with BJP bagging 89, JD(U) 85, LJP(RV) 19, HAM 5 and RLM 4.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) registered a landslide victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, winning 202 out of 243 seats. The BJP emerged as the single largest party with 89 seats, followed closely by the JD(U) with 85. Other NDA allies, LJP(RV), HAM, and RLM, secured 19, 5 and 4 seats respectively.
