Bihar elections 2025: With the countdown already having begun for the high-stakes polls, both the BJP and JDU have announced all their candidates. Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan is yet to announce its seat-sharing pact, but the Congress has started declaring its candidates.

The NDA is all set for the Bihar assembly elections 2025, with both JDU and BJP declaring all of their 101 candidates each as part of their seat-sharing deal. On Thursday, the JDU released its second and final list of 44 candidates. This comes after the BJP announced candidates for all 101 seats allocated to it. On Wednesday evening, the party released its third list, naming 18 more candidates. A day earlier, on Tuesday, the BJP had released its first list of 71 candidates, which included Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, contesting from Tarapur and Lakhisarai respectively, along with six state ministers. According to the BJP's third list, Bina Devi has been nominated from the Kochadhaman constituency, while Sangeeta Kumari will contest from Mohania, a seat reserved for the Scheduled Castes. Meanwhile, the Congress, a member of the Mahagathbandhan alliance, has begun announcing its candidates even though seat-sharing talks within the alliance remain unresolved.

Supreme Court hearing on Bihar SIR
During a hearing on the Bihar SIR, the Election Commission stated that voters are aware and satisfied, but the ADR requires all data immediately for analytics.
No appeals have been received so far. The first-phase process will conclude on October 17, and the second phase will finish on October 20, after which the list will be published on the website.

A major meeting is being held at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence regarding the Bihar elections and the delay in the Mahagathbandhan's seat-sharing pact. The JD(U) has declared 57 of its 101 candidates, with 4 women among them. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has announced 14 out of 29 candidates, including 2 women. HAM has fielded all 6 of its candidates, 2 of whom are women, while RLM has declared 4 of its 6 candidates, with only 1 woman.

Lalu Yadav has given the ticket for the Parsa seat in Saran to Karishma, the cousin of Tej Pratap Yadav’s estranged wife Aishwarya Rai. A dentist by profession, Karishma is the granddaughter of former Chief Minister Daroga Rai.
