Bettiah Election Results 2025: Counting for all 243 constituencies in Bihar concluded on Friday amid tight security arrangements. The process commenced with postal ballots and was followed by the counting of Electronic Voting Machines.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Renu Devi secured victory in the Bettiah Assembly constituency, winning by a margin of 22,373 votes against Congress candidate Washi Ahmad. Renu Devi received a total of 91,907 votes after 24 rounds of counting, reaffirming her strong hold on the seat and adding to the BJP’s tally in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
Counting process and voter turnout
Counting concluded across all 243 constituencies in Bihar on Friday under heavy security. The process began with postal ballots, followed by Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) counting from 8:30 am. The 2025 elections saw a record voter turnout of 67.13 percent, the highest since 1951. Notably, women showed greater participation, with 71.6 percent turnout compared to 62.8 percent among men, reflecting growing political engagement among female voters.
Bettiah constituency profile
Bettiah, constituency number 8 in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, falls under the Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha seat. It is a general (non-reserved) constituency with 1,60,010 registered voters as per 2020 Election Commission data- 81,785 males and 77,303 females. The seat also had 921 postal votes and 538 service voters. Strategically located in West Champaran district, Bettiah remains an important political stronghold in northwestern Bihar, with high voter participation and close party competition.
In 2015, the total number of voters in the Bettiah constituency was 1,47,836. Out of this, 76,086 voters were male and 70,869 were female. There were 881 postal votes in the constituency. The number of service voters in Bettiah in 2015 was 397 (277 were men and 120 were women).

In the 2020 Bihar Assembly Elections, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Renu Devi won the seat with a margin of 18,079 votes (11.44%). She polled 84,496 votes with a vote share of 52.83%. Renu defeated Congress candidate Madan Mohan Tiwari, who got 66,417 votes (41.53%). NOTA stood third with 2,017 votes (1.26%).
In the 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections, Congress candidate Madan Mohan Tiwari won the seat with a margin of 2,320 votes (1.59%). He polled 66,786 votes with a vote share of 45.26%. BJP candidate Renu Devi got 64,466 votes (43.69%) and was the runner-up. Independent candidate Sameer Hasan stood third with 2,851 votes (1.93%).
