Pulwama: IED blast followed by gunshots in Goripora area of Awantipora, 8 jawans injured
A blast took place inside a private school in Narbal village of Kakapora area of the south Kashmir district this afternoon.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police officials said that explosion took place at 02:30 pm inside the classroom at private school - Falah-e-Millat.
Arif Ahmad (10), a resident of Laroo area of Pulwama in south Kashmir, was critically injured after a shell he was playing with went off Saturday night, an official said.
Classes have been suspended in most colleges in the valley, including the Kashmir University and the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), as a precautionary measure.
Heavy deployments of police and the CRPF were made in Srinagar's old city area other law and order sensitive places.
He also stressed on the need for dialogue to resolve the “conflict” in the state and vowed to raise the issue of alleged “violation of human rights” with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

According to police, a special team was constituted to investigate surge in militant attacks in Tral in which civilians and security forces were targeted and created an atmosphere of panic and fear in the area.
Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the slain terrorists.
At least two terrorists were gunned down on Saturday during an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.
Pictures on social media showed Sofi dressed in a black outfit and claimed he had joined militant group ISJK, an outfit influenced by ISIS ideology.
Sub-inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, posted with the CID in Srinagar's Sheergadi, was on his way to his home when he was targeted by terrorists.
Upon receiving information about the presence of militants, the security forces including troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and state police, surrounded Babgund village.
The grenade was hurled upon the security forces by terrorists.
Villages including Alaipura, Achan, Hajdarpora, Batnur, Lassipora among others were cordoned off.

The grenade however, did not explode after it was hurled.
