Bibhav Kumar's lawyer argued in the Delhi court that he is seeking bail only and not acquittal in the Swati Maliwal assault case.
Swati Maliwal had filed an FIR against Kumar for allegedly assaulting her when she had gone to meet Kejriwal at his residence at Civil Lines area on May 13.
Speaking about the alleged assault incident, Swati Maliwal made some serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party. She also firmly stated that she would not relinquish her Rajya Sabha seat under any circumstances.
Swati Maliwal opened up on the alleged assault incident for the first time in an interview and made massive allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party. She said that she was told not to file a police complaint against Bibhav Kumar as Arvind Kejriwal will take action against him.
Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi's CM, announced via social media that Delhi Police would question his elderly and sick parents in the Swati Maliwal assault case. This development follows Swati Maliwal's statements, where she mentioned meeting Kejriwal's wife and parents during her visit to the CM's house.
Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar is under a five-day judicial custody in connection with the alleged assault on Maliwal, a Rajya Sabha MP, at the CM's Delhi residence. Police said Kumar had formatted his phone before transferring the data to some person, or device in Mumbai.
Delhi Police had earlier mentioned in the Tis Hazari Court that they would take Bibhav Kumar to Mumbai to the place where he had allegedly formatted his phone. Kumar was arrested on May 19.
