Chairman Hamid Ansari permitted B P Baishya (AGP) to raise his issue for which he had given a notice.
Ansari also tried to pacify the agitating members, but as they remained adamant, he adjourned the House for 10 minutes first and then till noon.
Baishya voiced concern over attacks on people from the Northeast in Delhi and accused the government of failing to “protect our sisters and brothers.”
The contentious Telangana issue has paralysed proceedings in Parliament since February 5, the day when the extended Winter Session commenced. Government plans to introduce the Telangana Bill in Rajya Sabha this week.
