When the results of the Lok Sabha elections were declared, she said “Those spreading canards against will realise all their efforts have gone in vain.” Banerjee also accused the CPI(M), Congress and BJP of trying to bring back Maoist violence in jungle mahal.

“We have restored peace in junglemahal. CPI(M), Congress and BJP are trying to bring back violence,” she said.  “Those trying to sabotage peace and intimidate the people with guns won't be spared. Our government will take strong action,” she said referring to the Maoists without naming them.

She said before her government took over, 400 to 700 people used to be killed every year, including several policemen.
“Many are still waiting for the return of missing family members,” she said.
