Ambedkarnagar, UP, July 22: A 20-year-old youth admitted to the district government hospital died on Sunday night after he was given an injection by a sweeper working in the hospital, relatives said.
The patient was admitted in the hospital on July 17. His wife said when her husband's condition deteriorated on Sunday, she approached the medical counter in the hospital but no heed was paid to her requests.
Finally a sweeper took Rs 50 and injected her husband. Later the young man died, and the doctor on duty could not revive him.
This is the second such incident in a UP government hospital. Earlier a rickshaw puller had killed a baby after injecting him in a hospital in Ballia.
