CBI challenges order to provide IB report to accused cops
Ahmedabad: The CBI has moved the Gujarat High Court, challenging a special court order which had directed the probe agency, to provide a copy of a classified Intelligence Bureau (IB) report to the eight cops
On June 2012, the Gujarat High Court had ordered CBI to probe the alleged fake encounter case after a petition by Jamal Sadiq's brother Sabit Jamal.
In its chargehseet filed on December 21, 2012, the CBI had named DySP J G Parmar, I A Saiyad, Tarun Barot, K M Waghela, police inspectors G H Gohil and R L Mavani, besides head constables Ajaypal Singh as well as Chatra Sinh Chudasama as accused.
All the eight police officers are now behind bars in the alleged fake encounter case.
