Bangalore: The Aam Aadmi Party style of campaign is taking leaders of other political parties by storm.

Former Infosys boss and currently UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) chief Nandan Nilekani on Sunday rode a bicycle in South Bangalore, the constituency from where he is supposed to contest on a Congress ticket against BJP heavyweight Anantha Kumar.

Nilekani took part in a voting awareness campaign. It was his first direct contact with the electorate.

Later at a college function Nilekani admitted that he was ready to contest on a Congress ticket.

South Bangalore is the Mecca of IT professionals and has elected Anantha Kumar five times in a row.

But, of late, Anantha Kumar has lost a considerable following. He won by a slim margin of 36,612 votes in 2009 LS elections.

Nilekani is a Gowda Saraswat Barhmin from the coastal region, and he is expected to erode Anantha Kumar's strong Brahmin votebank.
