Actress Deepika Padukone’s rumoured Rs 11 crore remuneration for ‘Padmavati’ started quite a stir in media a few weeks ago. The news kicked off debates like pay disparity and feminism and what not. But looks like rumours were all they were.
The spokesperson of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has refuted all these rumours saying they are baseless.
According to the reports, Deepika is the highest paid actress in Bollywood and after bagging a Hollywood project and delivering back-to-back hit films in Bollywood, she has hiked her fee.
"The reports surrounding the star cast remuneration for 'Padmavati' are completely false. The rumours are baseless and are being blown out of proportion,"
the spokesperson of Bhansali told IANS.
To be directed by Bhansali, "Padmavati" also stars Ranveer Singh.
Deepika and Bhansali have come together for the third time after the success of "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela" and "Bajirao Mastani".
