New Delhi, Oct 8: Riding on the festive period sentiment to boost car sales which is reeling under rising fuel prices, Nissan has come out with a special edition Nissan Micra Primo. The special edition Primo trim is available in XL, XV petrol variants and XV, XV Premium diesel variants.
The new model will cost consumers Rs 22,000 extra since the company has used a lot of additional accessories that are meant to boost its appeal.
The Nissan Micra Primo is available in Glossy Pearl White shades, and offers a double DIN Kenwood stereo with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, turn indicators on the outside rear view mirrors, rear parking sensors and ‘Primo' body decals on the sides.
Nissan's entry level car in India at present is the Micra premium hatchback which has so far received good response from consumers due to its driveability and interiors. Riding on the robust sales of Micra, Sunny and Evalia, Nissan Motor posted 64.24 per cent rise in domestic sales in the month of September. Nissan has a production facility in Chennai from where they produce the Sunny sedan and Micra hatchback.
According to Vishnu Mathur, director general of top industry body Society of Indian Automobile Association (SIAM), the festive period changes the entire market mood from gloom to boom, thus leading to improved sales.
The Nissan Micra competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ritz, Hyundai i10, Tata Indica Vista, and Renault Pulse.
