Khammam Municipalities Election Results LIVE: Congress ahead of BRS, BJP with wins on 48 seats
Congress' Tammineni Vijaya Lakshmi has won in Ward Number 15 in the Edulapuram municipality of the Khammam district as vote counting progresses in the 116 municipalities of Telangana that went to polls on February 11.

The latest vote-counting trends from municipalities in the Khammam district in Telangana municipal elections 2026 show Congress maintaining a clear lead across multiple towns, with BRS trailing behind and BJP yet to open its account in the segments declared so far.
In Edulapuram, out of 32 wards, Congress secured 8 seats, while BRS and BJP failed to win any. Others won 2 wards. In Kalluru, which has 20 wards, Congress won 6 seats and BRS secured 3. BJP and Others did not win any seats in this segment.
Madhira, comprising 22 wards, saw Congress winning 10 seats. BRS and BJP drew a blank, while Others secured 1 ward. In Sattupalli, which has 23 wards, Congress won 6 seats and BRS secured 2, while BJP and Others are yet to register a victory.
Wyra, with 20 wards, recorded 8 wins for Congress. BRS and BJP did not secure any seats, while Others won 2 wards. The party also secured an uncontested victory in Ward Number 1 of the Ramagundam Municipal Corporation, where Madipalli Vijaya emerged victorious.
Telangana Municipal elections
Vote counting for 116 municipalities and 7 municipal corporations, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Ramagundam, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Mancherial and Kothagudem, in Telangana is underway. Voting concluded on Wednesday, with the State Election Commission reporting a turnout of 73.01%.
Earlier, as part of the electoral roll revision exercise, authorities had deployed 29,656 booth-level officers across the state. More than 52 lakh voters took part in the process to decide the fate of 13,000 candidates in the fray.
The outcome is being seen as a test for the Congress, the BJP and the BRS. State Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud expressed confidence that his party would win the polls. Meanwhile, BJP leader and Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy said the party would secure favourable results.
