Romania's Simona Halep continued to lead the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) singles rankings released on Monday with 8,061 points, followed by Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki. While Spain's Rafael Nadal maintained the no. 1 spot in the men's Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world singles rankings released on Monday with 10,040 points, ahead of Switzerland's Roger Federer.
United States' Sloane Stephens remained in her third spot in this week's unchanged top 10, followed by Germany's Angelique Kerber and Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic, respectively, reports Efe.
Further down the rankings, Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka climbed five positions up to the 20th after she won the Connecticut Open final 6-1, 6-4 on Saturday over Carla Suarez of Spain, who jumped six positions to the 24th.
In the men's rankings, top-10 players are holding on to their positions as Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro is still occupying the third position, followed by Alexander Zverev of Germany.
Further down the rankings, Russian Daniil Medvedev rocketed 21 places to the 36th, following his victory at the Winston-Salem Open against Steve Johnson of the United States 6-4, 6-4.
