Paris: Saint-Etienne missed the chance to provisionally move into first place in the French league after slipping to a 2-1 home loss to Toulouse on Friday.

Saint-Etienne took the lead in the 18th minute when goalkeeper Ali Ahamada spilled a cross from Fabien Lemoine and winger Romain Hamouma turned in the loose ball for his third league goal of the season.

Toulouse equalized in the 63rd through Denmark forward Martin Braithwaite and added the winner in the 75th when left back Issiaga Sylla ran to the back post to turn in a cross from right back Serge Aurier.

The defeat means Saint-Etienne remains in second place ahead of this weekend's matches, one point behind leader Monaco, while Toulouse climbed out of the relegation zone and into 15th spot.

Both teams were without their first-choice forwards, with Saint-Etienne missing Brazilian Brandao and the visitors lining up without Israel striker Eden Ben Basat.

In Sunday's clash of the big spenders, Monaco travels to play Paris Saint-Germain. They are the only two teams still undefeated this season and Monaco is two points ahead of third-place PSG.

The Parc des Princes crowd will get to see three of the world's best forwards in action: PSG's Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani and Monaco's Radamel Falcao.
