Galle, Sri Lanka: Ace cricketer Younis Khan scored unbeaten 133 to lead Pakistan out of trouble against Sri Lanka and finish at 261/4 with Asad Shafiq batting on 55* at stumps on Day 1 of first test at Galle International Stadium here Wednesday.


The century stand between Younis and Misbah was ended when Misbah was caught behind by Rangana Herath at 31 for his second wicket. Later Younis built unbeaten century stand of 105 runs with Asad Shafiq till the end of first day of play.

Earlier, Sri Lanka fast bowler Dhammika Prasad removed Pakistan's openers in quick succession as the visitors struggled at 59-3 before lunch.

Prasad (2-28) removed Ahmed Shehzad and Khurram Manzoor cheaply in a lively opening spell after Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and elected to bat.

Ace spinner Rangana Herath then clean bowled Azhar Ali for 30 to have Pakistan in early trouble.
