New Delhi:

Debutants Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain put up stellar performances as Sunrisers Hyderabad ended Rajasthan Royals' unbeaten run in the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday, April 13. The duo shared eight wickets between them as SRH bowled out RR for 159 while defending a total of 216, ending the Royals' four-match winning streak in IPL 2026. After posting 216/6 in 20 overs, SRH’s total initially seemed within reach for RR’s powerful batting line-up. However, the chase quickly unravelled as Hinge tore through the Royals’ top order. He struck three times in the opening over, dismissing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for a golden duck, followed by Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius, both for two-ball ducks, effectively derailing the chase early.

Sakib then stepped in to tighten SRH’s grip, claiming four of the remaining wickets, while Hinge added another to his tally and Eshan Malinga chipped in with two. The collective bowling effort ensured a commanding win for SRH and brought an end to RR’s unbeaten run. Hinge turned the heads with a dream first over. He dismissed Sooryavanshi for a golden duck on the second ball of the innings. He went on a hard length as Sooryavanshi top-edged an attempted pull to fall for a nought. Hinge doubled his strike when he got Jurel on the fourth ball, played on as the RR batter went angled bat on a ball that was just outside off. Jurel fell on a two-ball duck. The 24-year-old Vidarbha bowler then removed Pretorius for another two-ball duck when the South African youngster flicked one straight to deep backward square leg. Earlier, Ishan Kishan had set things up for SRH with the bat. Kishan scored an astonishing 91 from 44 balls with six sixes and eight fours to power his side to a strong total. Heinrich Klaasen also contributed well for 40 from 26 deliveries, while Nitish Kumar Reddy (28 from 13) and Salil Arora (24 from 13) powered the finish.

It's a matter of time before SRH win this as RR are now nine down. SRH would go on to win this one very well.

Ferreira, Jadeja putting up a fight!!

Ferreira and Jadeja are fighting here. They have put up a 100-run stand for the sixth wicket. This is now the highest partnership for the sixth wicket or lower after a team had been reduced to under 10 runs for the loss of five wickets in all men’s T20 matches.

Donovan Ferreira brings up his fifty!!

Donovan Ferreira is taking on the SRH bowlers now. He has slammed his fifty with two consecutive fours off Harsh Dubey in the 12th over. He slams a six on the next ball for 14 runs from the 12th over. RR still way behind, need 120 runs from 48 balls.

RR go past 50 but SRH on top!!

That opening over burst has not let RR recover, and now it does not seem that they will be able to do that. Jadeja and Ferreira have taken the team past 50 after their team was 9/5. The 50-run partnership is now up but the damage has been done.

    RR toiling hard!!

RR have been rocked so hard that they would find it extremely difficult to put up a fight. Jadeja and Ferreira are in the middle but RR are in all sorts at 32/5 after 5 overs.

    Sunrisers end on 216/6

So, Sunrisers Hyderabad get to 216/6. A fine total, but would it be enough against a line-up which has Sooryavanshi, Jaiswal and Jurel? Meanwhile, SRH did well to get to this. Ishan Kishan was the star for them as he made 91 from 44 balls. Klaasen scored 40 from 26. Nitish and Salil, with the finish as SRH get to 216/6. They could have had more had Kishan been there for a longer time.

    Nitish gone, SRH past 200/5

Nitish has been dismissed here. Jofra Archer gets his second. This was a short one as Nitish nicks it behind. Salil slams a six on the last ball of the 19th over. SRH now 202/5 after 19.

    Nitish talking to the stars!!

Nitish Kumar Reddy is nailing in some brilliant boundaries now. He goes six, six against Sandeep Sharma in the 18th over. Good hitting by the all-rounder as he knows this ground pretty well.

    150 up for SRH

While Ishan Kishan has been dismissed, Heinrich Klaasen is still out there and getting good runs. He hit a six off Burger over long-off as SRH went past 150 in the 15th over. SRH don't have much batting to follow and Klaasen would be key. SRH 154/3 after 15.

    Kishan dismissed!!

Kishan has been caught out on 91. He misses out on a deserving hundred. Kishan top-edged this off Sandeep Sharma. There is a bit of a mix-up between Sandeep and the wicketkeeper Jurel. Both of them collide but Sandeep hung onto this safely. SRH 143/3 after 13.2 overs now.

Head with the first four of the match!!

Head goes inside out, smashes Burger over covers for the first four of the match. There seems to be a true bounce on this pitch and the bowlers are exploiting it. SRH 6/0 after 2 overs.

    Abhishek gone!!

And Abhishek Sharma has been dismissed for a golden duck here. Jofra Archer removes the hard-hitting SRH opener for a one-ball duck. This was short and fast as Abhishek went for the aerial cut. He found deep third as Bishnoi takes the catch. Abhishek's second duck of the season.

    Here is the pitch report

"This is a very good batting surface. We saw that last season when Rajasthan Royals took on Sunrisers Hyderabad and well, it was over 500 runs scored in that encounter. So will the same be expected today? We'll have to wait and see. But firstly, let's just look at the boundary dimensions. It's pitch number three. Down the ground it's 77. And to my left is the shorter of the two square boundaries, just 63 meters in length. It looks like an absolute belter. It looks beautiful, nice and hard. So you expect both teams, what they have in the powerplay and those top two openers, that the powerplay is going to be a big one. The teams are looking at that tendency of chasing. You know, it's big scores, hopefully a bit of dew in the evening. So it feels like every captain that wins the toss now wants to have a chase. Well, this encounter, two of the hottest opening pairs will go face to face. Expect pyrotechnics," Daren Ganga and Faf du Plessis say in their pitch report

What did Ishan Kishan say at the toss?

"We’ve got two changes from the last game, Henge coming in. I think I’ve been doing this for a long time. I was a leader in Under-19 India, I’ve been doing it for my state team, and I think it makes you more aware of the situation, more focused on the game. You look to do more for your team because it’s never about individual performance, it’s always about teamwork. So we have done it, and I think we’re doing it in a very good manner. I think obviously it makes a difference when you’re the captain of the team and you’ve been doing well. It shows a lot of maturity, that a player has a certain amount of growth in him now. So it did help me a bit in the last few years when I’ve been a leader of my side and done well for the team. It made me come back to the Indian side. So what else can you ask for?" Kishan said at the toss.

Riyan opted to bat, confirms changes

"We’ll be bowling first. A new wicket for us, first time it’s been used this season as well. So hopefully there’s a little bit of stickiness at the start. We’ve chased down a lot of totals here. We fell short in 2024, so hopefully not the case this time. We’ve got two changes. Brijesh steps out and Tushar Deshpande comes in. Hetty gets a rest and Pretorius makes his debut. It’s been a journey. I was under (Sanju Samson) Bhaiya for the longest time, and then Sangaa did really well in improving me with all the decisions and involved me in all the tactical and strategic meetings. Now I think I’ve taken the onus up. Had to make a lot of tough calls, but happy to be here," Riyan said at the toss.

On one side are Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal, dominating the bowling attacks for fun. On the other are Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, blowing hot and cold this season after tearing apart the bowlign line-ups last season. Which pair will have it's say today?
