Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to field first. Pant suggested that day game, the surface could remain the same and expected the ball to come better in the evening. Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya also wanted to bowl first but didn't mind going in to bat considering the heat.

Mumbai Indians have won four in a row and it has helped that Rohit Sharma has come into form at an important time and all things seem to be coming together for them. However, this is now the pressure time for MI with the expectations of another playoff spot increasing. Can they do it?

Lucknow Super Giants have stumbled a bit in their process to go forward in the tournament with a couple of losses due to batting failure. This is a critical game for the Super Giants given that they are taking on Mumbai Indians, who also are on the same points and could be a four-pointer if they win this one.
