Kolkata, Mar 28: It's time that country gets its second World Cup trophy, says Indian pace legend Kapil Dev, who feels that the current team has "in it" to lift the coveted prize.

The 52-year-old former all-rounder said a repeat of 1983 is possible and Mahendra Singh Dhoni could emerge as country's second World Cup winning captain.

"They have every reason to be there. I wish them luck. I am sitting lonely for 28 years. One should join me there. Why not? Thinking should be positive. Everybody goes to the ground with the feeling that I want to win. They have the capability and they have the team (to win the World Cup)," Kapil said during a promotional programme in the city here.

Kapil also refused to back the popular view that Indian bowling is weak.

"We have played seven matches with that attack and have done very well so far. They must have done something extraordinary to reach at this level. If there is a weak point, there remains a strong point as well," he said.

"When you reach at this level in the semi-finals, batsmen play more sensibly. Bowlers will have more comfort level than that of the batsmen," Kapil said.

He also does not see sledging happening during the high-voltage India-Pakistan semifinal.

"These days sledging happens more off-the-field than on-the-field. Only TV people talk these days. The ICC is very strong. With the microphones and the technology around, nobody will like to put their careers in jeopardy. I don't think it's relevant." PTI
