India's pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah etched his name into the history books when he completed his 100 wickets in T20Is during the first match of the ongoing series between India and South Africa. Bumrah became the second Indian bowler to complete 100 wickets in T20Is and achieved a huge record en route to a century of wickets in T20Is.

With his first scalp of the match at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Bumrah has now completed 100 wickets in all three formats of the game. He has now become the only Indian player to get to 100 wickets in all three formats.

Bumrah dismissed South African star Dewald Brevis in the 11th over of the second innings. His wicket got marred with a possible no-ball, which was not given. The Indian speedster outfoxed Brevis with a back-of-a-length ball as the Proteas batter mistimed it to extra cover. With this wicket, Bumrah got to his 100th T20I wicket.

Overall, Bumrah is the fifth bowler to get to a century of wickets in all three formats, joining the likes of Tim Southee (New Zealand), Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka), Shaheen Shah Afridi (Pakistan) and Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh).

The Indian pace sensation has 234 wickets in 52 Tests and 149 wickets in 89 ODIs for India. He has now got to his 100th T20I wicket in 81 matches.

Coming back to the match, India were asked to bat first after South Africa captain Aiden Markram had won the toss.  "We're going to bowl first. Expecting conditions to be good here in India. Quite a bit of dew around, might be a constant throughout the game, but might get a bit worse later. It's the way things work, lot of the games end up playing in the mind, you need to get yourself in the right frame of mind. Fantastic build-up to the World Cup. From a condition's point of view, it's going to be great. Can't simulate this in South Africa, looking to make the most of it," South Africa captain Markram said at the toss.

"We were a little confused looking at the wicket, it was looking a bit greener yesterday. Happy to bat first, want to make the most of it and defend. It (dew) becomes a little challenging for the bowlers, it is going to remain for a really long time," India skipper Suryakumar said at the toss.

"Let's not think about it, have it as a challenge. We had a good series in Australia, now we play against South Africa and then against New Zealand. It's good preparation. Want to enjoy it. It's a good headache to have. The guys missing out are Sanju Samson, Kuldeep Yadav, and Washington Sundar and Harshit Rana," he added.
