IND vs WI 2nd Test Live Score: Jadeja strikes again, West Indies starting to crumble; four down now

West Indies finish the day on 140/4. They trail by 378 runs after Day 2. The visitors need to put up a strong fight on Day 2 to put India in some sort of trouble. 

West Indies are 128/4. They trail by 390 runs at the moment. Imlach and Shai Hope are in the middle. 

Jadeja with his third and West Indies are knocking themselves on their foot. After a steady start, they have now lost four. Roston Chase is now gone for a duck. This turned in and the batter went to play it against the turn. He did not get to the ball and hit it back to the bowler.

Kuldeep back into the attack and he gets the other set batter Athanaze now.

Jadeja with another breakthrough as West Indies lose their second. This was on a length and stopped on the batter, who got a poke at it and Rahul took the catch of the third attempt.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze have kept the Indian bowlers at bay after losing John Campbell before tea. The wicket isn't doing anything exaggerated, and the batters have been able to get themselves in and play through the line.

The West Indies will be keen to have a wicketless session to close the second day as the play resumes after tea. India are miles ahead in the game but a little fight from the West Indies openers was nice to see before the unlucky dismissal of John Campbell.

The West Indies lost the wicket of John Campbell in 11 overs they batted as Sai Sudharsan's reflexes came to the rescue for Ravindra Jadeja, who had another wicket to his name for the series. The visitors are still 492 runs behind after India declared at 518/5 in the second session.

Sai Sudharsan was injured in the process as he took an impact on his hands and chest, but the ball stuck in his hands after John Campbell played a fierce sweep shot and the West Indies have lost their first wicket.

John Campbell and Tagenarine Chanderpaul have given the West Indies a safe start, without any hiccups and played out the opening spells of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.

Ravindra Jadeja is the stand-in captain for India in the field to start with, as Shubman Gill just went off having batted for so long when India declared. Devdutt Padikkal is on the field for him, while the West Indies openers Tagenarine Chanderpaul and John Campbell are in the middle, with the hope to give their side a good start.

India have declared their innings on 518/5 as Shubman Gill, after completing his century, was waiting for Jurel to get to his half-century but the latter was dismissed for 44 and India have called time on their innings. The West Indies have a huge challenge in front of them. Can they put up some fight?

The way Shubman Gill and Nitish Kumar Reddy played in the morning session of the second day, it seemed like there was a clear message as to India scoring a certain volume of runs in quick time with an eye on declaration and now with the skipper closing in on a century and 500 in sight, the 'D' word might be on the cards.

It is lunch time in New Delhi and India have pocketed this session as well.

India are well placed at 427/4 with Shubman Gill unbeaten on 75 runs and Dhruv Jurel is batting with him at the moment. India are likely to declare in the second session after Gill's century most probably. Let's see. Play resumes at 12:10 PM IST.

Vice-captain Jomel Warrican has gotten his third wicket as India have lost all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was trying to take the attack to the bowlers. Reddy mistimed a fuller one from Warrican, straight to the long-on fielder Jayden Seales and India have lost a second wicket today morning against the run of play. 

Team India has crossed 400 and are looking good for 400 more. Gill is playing his shots at will and Nitish Reddy has added the required spice to the contest with some attacking batting after the fall of Jaiswal's wicket. India in cruise control.

Indian captain Shubman Gill slammed his ninth Test half-century as India continued their march in the ongoing Delhi Test. Gill looked to play shots after Jaiswal's wicket and has gotten there smashing nine fours and looks good to make a big one.

Nitish Kumar Reddy was promoted to No 5 and the all-rounder has had a decent start while Shubman Gill, guilty of running his partner out, has started playing his shots after realising in the first couple of overs that the ball wasn't doing much. 

India have handed the West Indies a gift a day after Karwa Chauth as Yashasvi Jaiswal ran more than half the pitch and was sent back by Shubman Gill. Jaiswal, in disbelief, dejected, kept uttering that it was his call and he would have been on the danger end, but Gill surprisingly didn't respond when there was a run for the taking.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is 27 runs away from his third double century, while captain Shubman Gill will be keen to take his innings forward as India look to pile on at least 200 more runs before the declaration plans come into the play.

West Indies, apart from a few spells from Jomel Warrican and the two pacers at the start, didn't look threatening and another potential long day is expected on the field. Can West Indies arrest some momentum back from the Indian batters? We shall wait and see!

Yashasvi Jaiswal looked a bit rusty in the first Test in Ahmedabad, playing a game after a month, but on the first morning of the Delhi Test, he looked switched on. He wasn't overly aggressive in the first session, but really switched his gears in the second session as he raced to his seventh Test century. Soon, he was close to his double ton in the final session and tried to get it done on the first day itself by playing a few shots in the wee hours but pulled back the thought it looked improbable.

India took control of the second Test on the first day itself after opting to bat and the two left-handers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan, made merry on a largely good batting track at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Jaiswal was nearing a double ton, Sudharsan missed out on his maiden Test century and KL Rahul got one of the two deliveries that turned square from Jomel Warrican as the Windies await another long day on the field, with Indian captain Shubman Gill also licking his lips for a big one on the second day.
