IND vs AUS 3rd T20I Highlights: India win by 5 wickets after chasing down 187; Sundar, Arshdeep shine

India have chased down the target in just 18.3 overs as the Men in Blue level the series. Washington Sundar justified his selection with an unbeaten 49 off just 23 balls, while there were contributions all throughout the line-up after Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy helped the visitors restrict Australia for just 186.

Wickets have fallen at regular intervals but in between that, India have managed to keep the run rate and run scoring afloat as India are now in touching distance of levelling the series here in Hobart.

Tilak Varma's cutesy shots have cost him his wicket. The southpaw couldn't time it well as he tried to ramp Xavier Bartlett and India are half their side down but still very much on course of chasing the target.

Washington Sundar is flying in Hobart with the bat as he has ripped Sean Abbott into pieces here. Sundar has raced off to 29 off just 11 balls, smashing 26 off them in boundaries and it's India's game to lose now. 

Axar Patel scored a quick 17, but his promotion to No 5 on Australian tracks just feels unwarranted. Ellis picks up his third as Bartlett dives forward to complete a very good catch and India are four down now.

A six off Matt Short by Tilak Varma and a four to start Bartlett's over by Axar Patel and India have gone past the 100 run mark. The wicket is still pretty good to bat as runs are continuing to flow but India need to keep a lid on the loss of wickets.

Australia are chipping away at the wickets in between phases of boundaries for India. Suryakumar Yadav can't believe his luck as he hit it straight into the hands of the cover fielder, rather too well and Marcus Stoinis gets the big one.

After a 5 (9) in the last game, Shubman Gill has been dismissed for 15 and India's decision to back their Test and ODI captain as deputy in T20I seems to have overstayed its welcome, especially with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson having to sit out. It's all on Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma now for India to chase 187 down.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav is off to a rollicking start with a a couple of sixes and India are off and running again. India need to keep pushing Australian bowlers back as scoring off the older ball won't be easy.

Ravi Shastri on commentary was saying that something was going to give and Abhishek Sharma has thrown it away with Nathan Ellis surprising him with a pacy short delivery. India have lost an early wicket.

A couple of fours here, a couple of sixes there and Abhishek Sharma is off to a good start again. Australia need to pack his bags, if they have to make 186 look like 200, they have to get his wicket and for India, they will want for Abhishek to keep going.

Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill will be eager to get India off to a good start as the slower balls are sticking into the surface and the older ball will not be easy to hit, with the target being 187.

It is not the flattest of the Hobart wickets and Australia have managed to go past 180, despite Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy sharing five wickets combined. That sixth bowler leaking 56 runs in four overs might come back to haunt India, who were good in parts and very poor in others. Tim David and Marcus Stoinis were sensational in the middle.

There's a subtle fist-bump between Arshdeep and Marcus Stoinis, the Punjab Kings teammates as the bowler acknowledges the all-rounder's innings but the later has to go. Stoinis wanted to go big over the cow corner but a simple catch for Rinku does it for India and Arshdeep has his third.

Marcus Stoinis seemlessly assumed the aggressor's role from Tim David ahead of him and Australia continue to motor on. Stoinis has scored a quick fifty and has kept Australia on course of a score of 190-plus.

India's selection is literally costing them crucial runs. India had no option but to give the ball to Shivam Dube and the all-rounder leaked another 13 runs and cumulatively, has given away 43 runs off his three overs. India are leaking runs.

Marcus Stoinis was giving a treatment to Shivam Dube, parking the freebies over the boundary and out of nowhere, the all-rounder has gotten Tim David to miscalculate his lofted shot over the off side, straight into the hands of Tilak Varma. Dube gets the big wicket but his two overs have cost India 30 runs.

Varun Chakravarthy has googli-ed Mitch Owen on his first ball and Australia are four down now and India are fighting back after the Tim David assault. The latter is still in the middle, but quick wickets might delay his carnage as Stoinis arrives in the middle for Australia.

Mitchell Marsh was deprived of strike in last few overs, having played a total of just 13 balls and the skipper now perishes, trying to match Tim David shot for shot. Varun Chakravarthy strikes.

Tim David has gotten to a 23-ball half-century as he is really showing his power and strokeplay off. Shivam Dube concedes 15 runs in the over and India are now leaking it.

Tim David is loving the promotion and more responsibility, using the powerplay to find the gaps and then using his power when the field spreads. It's his homeground in the BBL and he is making India pay. Australia end the powerplay on a high at 43/2.

In the air and gonnnneeeee! Arshdeep Singh has his second and Josh Inglis departs. Didn't get to the pitch of the ball, had a swing at it, and Inglis hit it straight to the deep square leg fielder.

Travis Head scored a double and a boundary to get off the blocks quickly but went too early for a lofted shot on a shortish delivery from Arshdeep Singh and skipper Suryakumar Yadav took a simple but high catch at mid-off. India's leading wicket-taker in T20Is strikes immediately and gets the dangerous batter.

Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh are in the middle for Australia and Arshdeep Singh, who returns to the playing XI for the India, is immediately called into action. 

A short boundary on one side, a firm, true pitch - a lot of runs, fours and sixes are in the offing today. Should be a crackerjack!

India will bowl first in the third T20I in Hobart, with the wicket looking very good, with some nice covering of grass. Suryakumar Yadav referred to the temperatures getting cooler in the evening and suggested that it might come on to the bat in the night sky. Mitchell Marsh also wanted to field but didn't mind batting on what looked like a good wicket.

Josh Hazlewood has left the team for the rest of the series to start his preparation for the Ashes and build his red-ball workload. Can Australian attack, without either of Starc, Hazlewood or Cummins, have an impact in the crucial game? 

Not just the men's team, it seems like the coin toss doesn't like any of the Indian cricket teams. Shubman Gill hasn't been able to get it right in the Tests and ODIs and Suryakumar Yadav in the T20Is and even Harmanpreet Kaur for the women's team in the ongoing World Cup. Both Surya and Harmanpreet will be hoping that the coin falls in their favour with series and an elusive World Cup title on the line for their teams, respectively.

It might be a huge factor in the upcoming five-match Ashes series but conditions have had a telling effect on the results in the white-ball series thus far. Adelaide, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, everywhere it has been the same case and these are the Ashes venues. Can Hobart offer some respite for the batters?

India started well in Canberra, but the game was washed out. Melbourne was a debacle for the Indian batting line-up, with Josh Hazlewood running riot on a spicy wicket as Indian top-order faltered big time. Hobart might provide better conditions for batting and the Men in Blue will be keen to level the series against Australia sans Josh Hazlewood.
