The last time when Pakistani journalist Omar Quraishi mocked Indian athletes’ performance in Olympics, we all know how the Indian Twitterati – from legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan to cricketing great Virendra Sehwag – trolled him back.

A similar sight was seen on Twitter yesterday when a Pakistani man tried to mock India's medal tally at the Rio Paralympics.

At the ongoing Paralympics in Rio, Indian athletes have so far won bagged medals (two gold, one silver and one bronze). While Mariyappan Thangavelu won gold in men's T42 High Jump, Varun Bhati won bronze in men's T42 High Jump and Deepa Malik won silver in women's shotput F53 event in their respective events at the Rio Paralympics, javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia on Tuesday won his career's second gold in the F46 event.

So on Monday night when Deepa Malik won the silver medal, India's premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin congratulated her with an inspiring message on twitter. He tweeted, “So these exceptionally talented men and women continue to inspire the nation. Well done #DeepaMalik #legend”

In reply to his Tweet, a Pakistani user tried to make fun of India's medal tally by comparing it with the country's population.

However, Ashwin gave a very classic reply.

In his response, Ashwin referred to Pakistan's position in terms of world population and reminded the Pakistani user about his country's Rio Paralympics medal count. Pakistan has till date only won a single bronze medal.

After his fitting reply, the user appeared to have got the message that Ashwin was trying to convey and thought it best to end the Twitter war without facing more humiliation.
