INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL) 2018 MATCH 27, ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE vs KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS: Hello and welcome to our live ipl cricket coverage of the match no. 29 of Indian Premier League 2018 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. If you would look at the scorecard, it would say a last-over finish but mind you, it was a rather comprehensive win for Kolkata Knight Riders. They have come out all guns blazing after that defeat against Delhi in their previous fixture. Chasing a stiff target of 176, both Narine and Lynn provided an electric start. The built a 59-run association for the opening wicket that set the tone for the chase. However, after a mini rain break, the West Indian departed but the Aussie didn't stop.

Next was Uthappa who gave him good support as he came in started to slaughter from the word go. His quickfire 36 from 21 balls put Kolkata firmly in the driver's seat. After his dismissal, Rana came in but got retired hurt. Skipper Dinesh Karthik blazed his way and nearly got the job done. Remember, Lynn got a life when he was on 7 and boy, how well he has made it count. Batted through to take his side across the finish line with an unbeaten 62. Overall, it was a pretty much collective effort from Kolkata which has seen them bag 2 vital points. (SCORECARD) (IPL Full Coverage) (CRICKET STREAMING - RCB vs KKR)

00.10 IST:

00.04 IST: FOUR! Shubman Gill adds the finishing touch! He removes the helmet and lets out a huge roar in delight. Lynn walks across to him and the entire Kolkata dugout is pumped. Short of a length delivery outside off, Gill gets on top of the bounce and dispatches it through point for a boundary to seal the deal with 5 balls to spare. Kolkata Knight Riders (176/4) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (175/4) by 6 wickets. Lynn 62*, Uthappa 36, M Ashwin 2/36

23.58 IST: SIX! That should be the game! Superb strike! Another one on a length outside off, Karthik smashes it up and over long off for half a dozen. The crowd is silent and understandably so.  RCB 169/3 in 18.2 overs

23.55 IST: FOUR! Runs are coming thick and fast and Kolkata are cruising along now! Slower bumper on middle and leg, Karthik swivels a touch and helps it through the backward square leg. The man at fine leg had no chance to cut that one off. KKR 158/4 in 17.4 overs

23.52 IST: FOUR! All power! A dipping full toss, Lynn gets underneath it and slams it powerfully down the ground for a boundary. Brutal, really brutal hit!  KKR 151/3 in 17.1 overs

Tim Southee to bowl his last over. Can he pick up a wicket?

23.51 IST: FOUR! Brilliant way to end the over! That should release all the pressure. Full and outside off. It is a half-volley. Karthik drives it through covers and the ball races away. 29 needed from 18.  KKR 147/3 in 17 overs

Dinesh Karthik is the new man in.

23.46 IST: OUT! Russell, the birthday boy goes for a golden duck! HUGE wicket, huge wicket. The crowd here erupts. The short ball which has always been a problem for him does the trick. It is a well-directed bumper on middle, Russell clears his front let and goes for the pull. The ball takes the top edge and goes towards fine leg. De Kock turns runs and judges it and takes an excellent catch. Never easy those. The Bangalore players are all pumped up. 37 in 21 needed. Kolkata Knight Riders 139/3 in 16.3 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (175/4)

23.45 IST: The physio is out and now Rana is seen walking off the field. He might have done some damage to his leg. Andre Russell comes out to bat now.

23.43 IST: FOUR! Misfield! You can't just do that at this moment. You have to back your bowlers. Poor by Chahal. This is a good ball by Siraj full and outside off. Rana squeezes it through cover-point. Chahal in the deep runs to his left and then lets the ball through his legs. Rana is now down on the ground. He seems to be struggling, not sure about the exact reason. KKR 139/2 in 16.2 overs

23.39 IST:

23.38 IST: The strategic break has been signalled! 43 needed in 24 balls. The spinners are done for the night and Kohli now has to rely on his seamers to defend this down. With 8 wickets in hand, 9 out of 10 times you would feel it's the batting side who has its noses in front. Can Bangalore turn things around? An exciting finish beckons...

23.37 IST: FOUR! That will do for Kolkata! A bit flatter and shorter in length, Nitish Rana gets far too across and pulls it over backward square leg for a boundary to end the over. 4-0-36-2 are the figures of Ashwin. KKR 133/2 in 16 overs

23.33 IST: A bit short and angling away, Nitish cuts hard but finds Mandeep at backward point. Excellent over from Southee, just 4 from it. 52 is what Kolkata need from 30 balls.  KKR 124/2 in 15 overs

23.25 IST: FOUR!  He's hit that so, so hard! Flatter delivery to begin the final over, Lynn sits down and nails the sweep through backward square leg. There were two men in the deep but it goes right through them and across the fence. Booming hit!  KKR 116/2 in 13.2 overs

23.24 IST: Lynn ends the over with another sweep shot. Pinches a single towards deep square leg. 6 runs and a wicket off it, good one for Bangalore.  KKR 112/2 in 13 overs

Nitish Rana is in next.

23.20 IST: OUT! Robin Uthappa departs without converting a start yet again! Flighted delivery, turning away a touch, Robin Uthappa sits down to play the mighty slow but gets it off the toe end of the bat. It goes straight down the throat of Tim Southee stationed at long on. The breath-taking stand is broken. 68 needed from 46 balls. Is this the turning point of the game? Kolkata Knight Riders 108/2 in 12.2 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (175/4)

23.19 IST:

23.17 IST: SIX! It was turning out to be a good over but a biggie on the last ball spoils the good work! Touch short on middle, sits up to be hit and Uthappa swivels a touch and pulls it with authority over deep backward square leg for half a dozen. KKR 106/1 in 12 overs

Umesh Yadav is brought back into the attack.

23.12 IST: SIX! Uthappa has absolutely smashed that one! Magnificent! Tossed up delivery, a bit too full and right in the zone. Robin takes a stride ahead and belts it cleanly over long on for a biggie.  KKR 95/1 in 10.2 overs

Yuzvendra Chahal is called back.

23.09 IST: FOUR! Third boundary in the over! Lynn goes down on one knee and sweeps it through square leg. Once again it is in the gap and the ball races away.  KKR 87/1 in 9.5 overs

23.08 IST: FOUR! Uthappa pierced the gap to perfection! Full on the pads, the batsman flicks it through mid-wicket. The ball races off the turf and beats deep mid-wicket and long on for a boundary.  KKR 82/1 in 9.3 overs

23.04 IST: FOUR! Poor ball and poor effort in the field also. It is on the pads, Uthappa flicks it towards short fine leg. Mandeep Singh there lets it through his hands and it goes to the fence. That should release the pressure which was building.  KKR 73/1 in 8.4 overs

23.03 IST:

23.01 IST: SIX! Almost a catch! Once again Ashwin tosses this one up. Uthappa goes downtown. The fielder there jumps and stretches a hand out. The ball brushes his fingers and goes over the ropes.  KKR 67/1 in 8 overs

Robin Uthappa is the next man in.

22.58 IST: OUT! Murugan Ashwin strikes off his first ball. He is all pumped up. He would have been low after dropping a catch but his confidence will be right up there now. He floats this one up on off, it is in the zone for Narine as he tries to clear long off. He does not get the desired connection and it goes into the hands of de Grandhomme who takes a good catch just ahead of the ropes. A much-needed wicket for Bangalore and they are back into this game. 117 more needed from 77. Kolkata Knight Riders 59/1 in 7.1 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (175/4)

Murugan Ashwin is into the attack.

22.56 IST: FOUR! That has gone to the fence like a tracer bullet! Shot and wide, Lynn loves it there. He cuts it through point and the ball races away.  KKR 59/0 in 7 overs

22.55 IST: The players are now making their way out to the middle. They are followed by the batsmen. Mohammed Siraj will continue his over.

22.45 IST: GOOD NEWS! -

22.41 IST:

22.35 IST: Covers are being taken off, so it won't be a long delay. There won't be any loss of overs either. The super soppers are out, the umpires are done with their inspection and play will resume shortly.

22.25 IST:

22.20 IST:

22.17 IST: A beauty to end the over. Lynn once again makes room and tries to go over covers. Chahal slows it up and bowls it on middle, it again turns away sharply and beats Lynn. Just four from the last over of the Powerplay but an excellent one for Kolkata. Bangalore are 51 for 0 after the first six. 125 needed of 84. RCB 51/0 in 6 overs

22.16 IST:

22.15 IST: FOUR! A full toss by Chahal and it has been cut by Lynn on the backfoot to extra cover. He makes room and goes with the spin, over covers and the ball races to the fence. Brings up the 50 for Kolkata. KKR 51/0 in 5.4 overs

22.13 IST: SIX! Straight down the ground. That was in the zone for Lynn! Full and on middle, Lynn clears his front leg and hit is flat over the bowler's head for a biggie. KKR 47/0 in 4.4 overs

22.09 IST: Seven runs off Chahal's over. KKR 36/0 in 4 overs

22.07 IST: DROPPED! Chahal can't believe it, Virat can't believe it. The bowling change almost worked wonders. Chahal floats it up on leg stump. Lynn comes down the track and tries to go against the spin. The ball takes the top edge and balloons towards covers. Ashwin there takes a step or two back and settles himself under it and drops it. The batsmen take a run. How costly will this prove? Lynn is not someone you want to drop.

22.06 IST: FOUR! Lynn gets his first boundary on Yuzvendra Chahal's delivery and sweeps the shot for a boundary to square-leg. KKR 33/0 in 3.1 overs

22.04 IST: 11 runs off the over. Narine has read the short balls and he has come out with some luck in his pocket. The question arises as to how long can he go on like this?. Lynn is quite at the moment. KKR 29/0 in 3 overs

22.00 IST: FOUR! Another one by Narine. He smashed that one but just went past the fielder and sails down for a boundary. Once again a short ball on off, Narine makes room and flat-bats it towards McCullum at mid on. He puts in an acrobatic effort to catch it but the ball clears him and goes for another boundary. Back-to-back for Narine. KKR 26/0 in 2.2 overs

22.00 IST: FOUR! Narine is taking his chances. A top edge and a boundary results. Short and on middle, Narine takes on the challenge of pulling but once again it takes the top edge. It clears short fine leg and rolls into the fence. KKR 22/0 in 2.1 overs

21.56 IST: FOUR! 10 from Umesh Yadav's first two. Short and outside off, not a good ball to bowl with no third man. Narine guides it over short third man for a boundary.  KKR 15/0 in 1.2 overs

21.53 IST: The first over of the match sees just five runs off it as Southee bowls brilliant short-pitched balls. KKR 5/0 in 1 over

21.50 IST: In the air... just out of reach. Short and on middle, Narine tries to defend but it hits the top portion of the bat and lobs towards the off side. Kohli from gully comes running in and dives forward but the ball lands just short.

21.49 IST: KKR's Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine come out to open whereas Tim Southee will bowl the first over. Let's get started as KKR need 176 runs to win.

21.48 IST: Well, will this be enough? Will Kohli and co. be able to defend this down? It's hard to say as their bowling has let them down every time. The visitors do have a powerful batting line-up in their ranks and a good start is what they would need to set the tone for the chase. Who's going to come out on top? So the chase begins..

21.46 IST:

21.22 IST: FIFTY! Virat Kohli slams 33rd half-century of his IPL career. That's fifty for Virat Kohli. Third captain in the day who has got to a fifty today. Pulls this length delivery towards deep mid-wicket and scampers through for a brace. His wife in the stands is clapping but Kohli doesn't even celebrate. He just wants to bat as much as possible. Royal Challengers Bangalore 144/4 in 17.5 overs vs Kolkata Knight Riders

21.20 IST: OUT! Mandeep gets caught in the deep! That's the wicket Kolkata dearly needed as they break the 65-run stand. Slower delivery, angling in on middle, Singh waits back and pulls it nicely. However, he doesn't get the desired distance as Shivam Mavi at deep mid-wicket takes a good catch near the rope. Will this slow things down now for the hosts? Royal Challengers Bangalore 140/4 in 17.3 overs vs Kolkata Knight Riders

21.11 IST: FOUR! Splits the gap to perfection does Kohli! Back of a length delivery outside off, a bit of width and it's enough for Kohli as he places it between backward point and short third man for a boundary.  RCB 113/3 in 15.1 overs

Shivam Mavi is back.

21.07 IST: FOUR! In the air... safe! Floated delivery, turning away from off, Kohli goes for a big shot over extra cover. For a moment it seemed like he was not got enough but much to his delight, it falls in the safe zone and goes on a couple of bounces into the rope. RCB 104/3 in 14.1 overs

Mitchell Johnson returns into the attack.

21.00 IST: Kuldeep slides in a googly, Mandeep didn't pick it up at all. Tries to put bat on ball but fails. Excellent over from the Chinaman, just 3 coming off it. RCB 91/3 in 13 overs

20.57 IST:

20.56 IST: FOUR! Scintillating! Absolutely middled it. A half-volley outside off, it's a juicy one. Kohli leans ahead and drills it off the carpet through extra cover. Not a soul moved there as it blazed away to the fence. But what happened to VK? He seemed to have hurt his right leg after playing that shot.  RCB 88/3 in 12 overs

Mandeep Singh is in next.

20.48 IST: OUT! Manan Vohra comes and Manan Vohra goes. Second in the over for Russell. He bowls a low full toss on off. Brief Preview: Coming off a heartbreaking loss, the Indian Premier League game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday will be a test of character for embattled Royal Challengers Bangalore, who have left themselves with little margin for error after a string of reverses. RCB are struggling at sixth position after two wins and as many as four defeats, while the visiting KKR side is placed fourth with three victories and four losses.

It remains to be seen how RCB have recovered from the painful defeat to Chennai Super Kings at the Chinnaswamy Stadium earlier this week. Though having a much better season than their beleaguered opponents, KKR too were stunned by Delhi Daredevils last night, and the two-time champions will be keen to get back to winning ways. Last time the two teams clashed, KKR, under new captain Dinesh Karthik, successfully chased down a target of 177, thanks to Sunil Narine's blistering 19-ball fifty.(Read Full Match Preview)
