Tarun Tejpal should not be offered any escape route: Arun Jaitley

New Delhi: Demanding both a departmental enquiry as well as a criminal trial against the disgraced Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal, senior BJP leader and the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley today expressed

"This is precisely why the 'state' pursues a criminal action. The public exchequer pays for it. There is a larger public interest in punishing a criminal," he said.

The BJP leader said a departmental or in-house inquiry and a criminal trial complement each other.
