Kargil: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that corruption has to be uprooted completely if we have to move forward on the path of development.

Modi was addressing a public meeting in Kargil of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Corruption is the worst plague that has ruined the country. Once it is rooted out, we will sail on the path of development smoothly, said Modi.

Stressing on the need to focus completely on development, Modi said, “When I had become the CM of Gujarat, someone came up to me and said that you are visiting Kutch for the first time. Please don't talk about border crisis and other factors. Kutch is mostly Muslim dominated; people wear the same kind of clothes as you do in Kashmir. So when I visited that place I just spoke of development and nothing else. And now I can proudly say that my Kutch has grown and developed tremendously. Our mantra must be development.”

Modi said that he will neither indulge in corruption himself nor will he allow others to indulge in corruption.

“My mantra is –Na khaoonga ,na khane dunga (neither will I eat nor will I let others eat),” asserted Modi
