People of J&K have rejected the bullet by showing the strength of the ballot, says Narendra Modi in Udhampur

01:32 pm: Modi: The entire world is clamoring and cheering for India. Do you know why? Its not because of Modi, its because of 1.25 billion people of India... Because You have given clear mandate to the government. When world leaders greet Modi, they don't see me, but the 1.25 billion people of India. So you must give complete mandate to the BJP this time. I will find a solution all the diseases that have plagued this state.

01: 30 pm: Modi: The terrorists have got frustrated. They threw so many bombs, attacked people, shut down areas and yet so many people have assembled here today. You have sent out a strong message. I have faith that you will give the BJP to form government with full majority this time.

Now through Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana…thousands of poor people have opened bank accounts.Those who opened account have got insurance of Rs. 1 lakh. But those people who ruled India for the past 60 years wanted poor to remain poor so that they could collect votes. The way you voted this time, you have given victory to democracy...Jo log bullet ke zor se ballot ko dabaya kartey the,unhe logon ne bullet ko dabakar ballot ka parichay karwa diya hain. Terrorists are panicking because the people of J&K are determined to change their destiny through democratic ways.People have rejected the bullet and shown the strength of the ballot.

01:26 pm- Modi: Who does not want to visit Jammu and Kashmir…in every corner of the globe people want to see this state but we need to create that welcoming atmosphere for them. We want to walk on the path through which youth will provide a shoulder to their parents, people will have electricity, drinking water, etc.

01:24 pm- Modi: Does any youth say that now that Modiji you have become the PM, get me a house…no they want employment. They want to support their aging parents. Tourism, employment generation- are two sectors that my government intends to focus on. Tourism is one sector in which everyone benefits – including tea- seller. It was Atal ji who dreamt of bringing railways here and it is us who are working to fulfill this dream

01: 21 pm-Modi: I want to assure you- I have seen the security people. They don't face as much stress here as anywhere. Shouldn't we think about their peace of mind. Shouldn't they be able to sleep well too. I want to tell all men in uniforms that the next government will work for you.

01:18 pm- Modi: Had funds been utilized properly then people of J&K would have been the richest people of the state. Do you want every Rupee returned to you? (Crowd: Yes)…what didn't happen in the past 30 years, I promise to do that  in coming 5 years. That is why I want your support. I am coming from Kashi…From Ganga's lap. If you are concerned about the younger sister then shouldn't you be concerned about the elder sister?

01:15pm- Modi: Rahul Gandhi had said that if Rs.1 is sent from Delhi then only 15 paisa reached villages. Where does this 85 paisa go?who benefited out of it? Be it NC, or…(Crowd shouts - Congress)…without me having to say anything you are saying it, because…”ye janta hai sab kuch janti hai”…

01:13pm- Modi: 60 years have passed by. Those who do not care about the people of the state are forming alliances to grab and snatch whatever they can from you. But I assure you that J&K will always be given help but we will also ensure that the money is going into the right hands and is being used for the right cause. So I have tightened the screw. That's why the Opposition is against me and so is the incumbent state government because I have stopped their strategy to loot together.

01:11 pm- Modi: When Kashmir was hit by floods, without wasting a single minute I came here and put the government into action to rescue you and save you. In our country, Diwali is one festival that people want to celebrate with their families. But I decided to be with you in your time of need. This is not to take political mileage. It's not to garner votes.

01:09- Modi: Earlier people used to proudly say that the Prime Minister will be coming here. But never before has Jammu and Kashmir seen a PM visitng the state every month. I may be residing far from you but I can feel your pain. Every month, brothers and sisters, since July, I have been visiting you. And I will come here again in December and each time I've come with the message of development. I have come to wipe your tears.

01:07- Modi: Many Prime Ministers must have come here, but I know that no one else had the privilege to be honoured by so many people. It comes as a blessing to be greeted by the public and I feel honored that lakhs of people from all walks of life are here to hear me out.

After Udhampur,  Modi is scheduled to address another rally in Poonch.

The second phase of polling in the state  will take place on December 2.Surankote, Mendhar and Poonch Haveli constituencies in Poonch district, Ramnagar, Chenani and Udhampur in Udhampur district and Gulabgarh, Reasi, and Gool Arnas in Reasi district are going to poll in the second phase.

In the Kashmir Valley, the constituencies going to poll include Devsar, Noorabad, Homeshalibugh and Kulgam in Kulgam district and Handwara, Kupwara, Karnah, Lolab and Langate in Kupwara district.

An unprecedented 70 per cent voter turnout was witnessed in the first phase of elections.
