New Delhi, Nov 23:  With logjam prevailing over the opposition's demand for vote on foreign direct investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail under rules that entail voting, the Congress-led UPA government is likely to call an all-party meeting Nov 26, CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury said Thursday.

The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath had conveyed government's intention to meet leaders of all parties in an effort to find a way out over differences on FDI in retail, after a meeting of Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Rajya Sabha.

The Left parties and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are firm on their stand that there should be a discussion on FDI in mutli-brand retail under rules that entail voting.

The government, however, has said that an executive decision (FDI in retial) cannot be a subject for debate under a rule that entails voting.
