Surat: Climbing the ladder of success in Delhi with an infinite speed, Aam Aadmi Party has already proved its calibre to expand its network across the country. After its spectacular success in Delhi , AAP is now all set to storm Gujarat as well.
Aam Aadmi Party has already set up its units in 19 districts and is planning to form its units in the rest of the districts within a fortnight. The districts where AAP has not yet reached lie in tribal areas and north Gujarat region.
Baldev Patel, state convenor said that the party's units will soon be set up at block or taluka level within two months.
AAP is preparing to contest Lok Sabha polls for which they have already pulled up their socks. "Following out spectacular performance of the party in Delhi Assembly polls, we are getting a good response in the state," Baldev Patel said.
Patel said, even the academicians, activists and leaders from the established parties now desire to join AAP. Though he did not reveal the names of the leaders but says he hasreceived many calls for joining AAP.
"But I told them that there are no posts in AAP and everyone is treated as a common worker. The decisions in the party are taken collectively by a consultative committee as no one is authorized to take independent decision on his own,” Patel added.
Patel said that even Arvind Kejriwal is the convenor of the party, not its president. The decisions made by him are pronounced after he consults it with 24 others in the central consultation committee.
Patel also said that their party might contest Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat depending upon their presence and strength at that time. "We may contest all the seats or some seats only", he added.
Patel said that some tribal educationists from the newly created Chhota Udepur and other places had contacted him and invited him to mobilise the tribals in favour of AAP.
