5. Former Australia cricketer Steve Waugh sits in fifth place in the list of cricketers to have scored 500+ runs in a test series while batting at number 6 or lower. Waugh achieved the feat during The Ashes in 1989. There is no doubt that he was one of Australia's best performer in the series, scoring 506 runs in the eight innings that he played in the series.

4. Veteran India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was exceptional for the Indian team in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. Taking on England, perfoming with the ball, Jadeja was even better with the bat in his hand. Batting in the lower middle order, the all-rounder amassed 516 runs in the 10 innings that he batted in the series.

3. Former West Indies cricketer Shivnarine Chanderpaul occupies third place in the list of players with 500+ runs while batting at number 6 or lower in a test series. It is worth noting that Chanderpaul was one of the West Indies' best performers when the side took on India back in 2002. He finished the test series at the second highest run getter with 562 runs to his name in seven innings that he played.

2. Former South Africa cricketer Denis Lindsay tore it up for the Proteas when the side took on Australia in a test series in the 1966-67 season. Hosting Australia, South Africa registered a historic test series win with Lindsay at the front of it. Batting in the lower middle order, Lindsay amassed 606 runs in seven innings and was the highest run getter of the series.

1. Former legendary West Indies cricketer Sir Garfield Sobers sits at the top of the list of players with the most runs in a test while batting from number 6 or lower. Regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time, Sobers put in a brilliant show against England in a test series back in 1966. Batting quite lower down the order, Sobers finished the series as the highest run getter with 722 runs to his name in eight innings.
