How Somali jihadists abducted, gangraped a lady journalist
New Delhi: A Canadian journalist who was kidnapped, gang raped and even reportedly gave birth to a child while being held captive by Somali jihadists for 15 months has released a book about her ordeal.
After being held hostage for 100 days and the ransom decreasing to $1 million, Lindhout and Brennan decided to escape.
They ran towards a mosque, screaming, but were soon caught and beaten savagely by one of their attackers, carrying an AK47.
Lindhout has not spoken of reports that she fathered a son, Osama, during her time in captivity.
