Kuala Lumpur: Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte arrived here Wednesday to discuss the latest developments concerning the downed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in Ukraine.

Rutte was greeted by Malaysia's Deputy Defence Minister, Abdul Rahim Bakri at the airport, Xinhua reported.

During his one-day visit, Rutte is expected to meet with his Malaysian counterpart Najib Tun Razak as well as Malaysian officials who were involved in the MH17 recovery operations and investigation.

Flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine July 17 as it was flew from Amsterdam on its way to Kuala Lumpur with 283 passengers and 15 crew onboard. The aircraft is believed to have been shot down in strife-torn eastern Ukraine.

There were 193 Dutch nationals and 44 Malaysians among the passengers onboard.

The remains of all the Malaysian victims have been identified.

According to a Malaysian government statement, the two leaders will exchange views on bilateral matters as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
